“Don't Stop!”

The picture and location listed are very misleading. It is just off the interstate, but in a very bad section of town. After checking in we found we were on the 2nd floor and no elevator to get luggage up. our key did not work and we had to go back down twice to get it redone and finally one worked so we just made sure that we did not leave the room at the same time. the outsoor pool was partially drained and green, the hallway dors were being held open with rolled towels. out air conditioning did not cool the room and when we tried to turn it down the breaker flipped and we had no electricity. this happened again the next morning when I turned on the coffe pot. the plumbing was terrible, the stool did not flush properly and water backed up in the sink. We found the staff to be very unprofessional. Needless to say we would have left if we would not have lost our choice privledges points and if we had not just driven 10 hrs. We only needed a bed so we slept and were out of there by 6:00AM.

I'm surprised at all the hate for this place.

It's a cheap hotel, and the last night we were there, the AC started making an odd noise, so we had to turn it off to sleep...but then we slept just fine. That's it. That's my whole complaint about the hotel.

And there are several good things about this hotel. The staff is extremely friendly, even generous and definitely personable. The breakfast is better than the "hot" breakfasts at the other Choice hotels where we've stayed: actual scrambled eggs (both plain and spicy), biscuits and gravy, sausage (let's be honest: dry and almost certainly microwaved), cereals, bagels, apples, coffee, and tea. It's not a memorable breakfast, but it's better than I'm used to at these chains.

They have an indoor pool that is kept at a very good temperature, just slightly cool, and a hot tub kept at a great temperature: I got in with my two elementary-school-age children, and it was hot but not too hot even for them. The kids remembered these pools from the last time we stayed here, six months previously, and they were stoked to be back.

The area it's in is not lovely, but it's a short drive away from a place with a pharmacy and big grocery store, and the whole area is perfectly safe. We parked here with cars packed full of our belongings, and nobody nicked so much as the paint.

Is this the best hotel you'll stay in? No. But it's a better-than-fair value. It's inexpensive, convenient, and really pretty nice.

Stayed July 25th 2013. The staff was great but the hotel was on of the worst I have stayed at. Everything is broken torn or very outdated. The carpet torn, sink cracked, food still on the floor of the room.

I stayed because it was the lowest cost. It suited my needs, the breakfast was fine.

The whole hotel, but especially the outdoor pool area would be a great set for some depressing movie about being down and out. Something about coming to an end.

Room Tip: you maybe able to park in front of your room in the north building

If you are simply looking for a good deal and a quick place to stay right off the Interstate, this will work. I have been here a few times, but I was more disappointed this time. For the price (especially after our coupon), I don’t feel I can complain too much but I still might complain a little. Our room itself was OK. Nothing amazing, but not bad. The most annoying part is that we were on the second floor in the back and it was very difficult to find a quick path up there when bringing things in. I would definitely request something on the first floor next time. The whole place really smelled like smoke as well (not as much in the rooms), which bothered those with allergies. The other negatives were that we picked the place so the kids could swim after driving all day. The outdoor pool was empty as was the hot tub. The indoor pool was open but very small, cold, and busy. It was also quite a trip to get to the pool from our rooms and since the interior patio doors were locked we needed to walk all the way through the building. Breakfast was hot and free- not bad. Doubt if we will stay here again.

Room Tip: First floor

We were looking for an inexpensive hotel with a pool to stay in for one night...and we got that.

Pros: The desk personnel were friendly and helpful, and we were told before checking in that the hot tub had been drained and was out of order. There were clean sheets on the beds. We had internet in the room. The buffet breakfast fit our family’s needs – cereal for the kids and a hot breakfast for the adults.

Cons: The indoor pool was small and run down. The sauna (as well as the whirlpool) was not working. The mattresses were old, stained, and sagged in the middle. There was no refrigerator in the room. We like to leave the bathroom light on to use as a night light. Unfortunately, there is only one light for the bathroom AND the vanity area! You either sleep with the light in your face, get woken up when someone turns on the light to go to the bathroom, or go to the bathroom in the dark. Finally, a hotel guest had all four of his tires slashed!

This facility has outlived its usefulness. Looks like it was once a business lodging/reception hub for the area, but its clients have left. This place needs to turn off its lights. Front desk people were the best part of the visit, quite considerate and polite. We went for a coupon deal. Previewed the "no smoking" room. The perfumed room deodorizer briefly masked what might be decades of its former "smoking" status. Appears to be a way station for transients and long term lodgers. Did not follow my instinct that we needed to move on to another facility as it was late in the day and we were tired. Other reviews (now that I've finally checked them out) detail most of our concerns. Don't think I'll ever again consider a Rodeway stay.

Room Tip: Just keep moving on down the road.
