Nestled in an alley (honestly, the front door opens to an alley), hidden beneath the giant ramps and structure of a city parking ramp, you can find a little building, not much bigger than a two car garage. On any given day at noon, you will find a waiting line for a seat on one of the sixteen stools surrounding a lunch counter. The only items on the menu are loose meat sandwiches ( the equivalent of a Maid Rite, but since it isn't franchised, they can't use that term), home made pies and ice cream. The milk shakes may not be the very best in the world, but I can assure you that they are the best that I have ever had, and probably will be the best you ever think of having.
It's a simple little meal, by honest, hardworking folk without pretense, and it hasn't changed a bit since it opened more than seventy five years ago.
