Had a company gathering - fund and entertaining. The help was friendly and kind. Pretty fast service, though two dinners were switched and we didn't figure that out until too late.
The room was quiet and private, plenty of chance for good conversation. The fixtures are nice, the chairs comfortable.
I've liked this place for years, and recommended it to friends. This time had a few hitches though. The wrong dinner was a start, but these things happen - seafood lasagna and vegetarian lasagna look the same until you dig into them.
I tried to salvage the dinner with dessert. Their Crème Brulee used to be the best around. This time...a quarter inch of dry custard in the bottom of a big custard cup. Pretty easy to get overcooked, which it was. This dish is supposed to be an indulgence. But cooked this way, in such a paltry serving, left no flavor and took all the joy out of it. It sort of peeled off of the bottom of the custard cup, in dry strips.
