“Nice dinner.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 4, 2013

The real name is Trostel's Greenbriar. The food and service are good. We visited on Valentine's day with a reservation. They serve fun martinis. Love their steaks and fun appetizer's too.

“Excellent experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 12, 2013

I wanted to provide two business clients from the coasts a top quality Iowa dinner. The Greenbriar was the perfect choice. One went with steak and the other ordered the Iowa Chop. They couldn't have been happier with their choices. We started with an appetizer made from farm-raised elk which was both unique and delicious. The cuts of meat were cooked to perfection and full of flavor. Our server was somewhat new and couldn't always answers our questions on the wine list and menu, but she took the initiative to ask others. All in all it was a quality experience that my clients (and I) were very happy with.

“won't be back”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed March 31, 2013

Dined just last night at the Greenbrier and they keep the lighting so dim you need a flashlight to read the menu, must have something they don't want us to see (clean??). The service was good however the food was delivered and just luke warm, prime rib was cold and had to go back, they nuked it in the microwave (oh boy) it came back looking like all meat does you cook in a microwave, gray!!! All in all we had a party of 13 people and lets just say only 3 were somewhat satisfied with their meal.

“First Impressions...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 8, 2013

Traveling through on business, and my hotel recommended the place. Server, Scott S. was outstanding, and this is a 'hidden gem' here in the Des Moines metro... Outstanding food, and even better, personal service... By the way, this is a steak house, but Chef Troy did amazing things with fresh Salmon! Outstanding...

“One Good Meal”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 5, 2013

It's been a while since we ate here and I forget how good it is. Lobster goon appetizer...wife, tempura shrimp...my filet. All excellent quality, flavor, and presentation! Server, Scott, provided attentive, knowledgeable, pleasant experience.
