“Has real potential”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2013 via mobile

This place has great potential & who cares who did what work, as long they keep improving we'll be back.

The view & location are by far the best thing about this park, you could lounge about forever watching the lake & the pool isn't too shabby either, its a shame about the water slide not working, its a tease seeing it there ;)

We loved the real ice cream & its price from the shop, but would've been even better if we could sit at a play ground with more suitable equipment for a range of ages.

The powered site we had was HUGE & we had plenty of room for our van & the kids to sprawl out & not bother the neighbours.

The only downside that I struggled with was the bathrooms, I only noticed them get cleaned once a day & they weren't hugely better afterwards. However I do blame other campers for this, if you expect to have people clean up your filth go stay at a motel & pay for this service.

Overall it was a pleasant stay & as this is our 3rd caravan park this month it rated well & now I need to talk my other half out of buying a boat from 3 days of admiring them on the lake.

Hi KN0568, thank you very much for your feedback. Glad you enjoyed your stay with us, we will be making many more improvements throughout the year, if you come back with your boat, we'd love to hear your thoughts on the park. The slide was a bit of a tease, sorry about that, it's been taken down now though. Please feel free to come back anytime.

what a lovely park this could be. it has a fantastic view of the lake and situated away from the town.
Danny and Terry managers now, have not been their long, but they did not do the painting or the up grading to the camp kitchen or cabins as previously stated. that was the managers before them, danny and terry came aboard when this was just finished.

Hi honestsouthaustralians, we agree the Lake is beautiful no matter what time of year. The camp kitchen is 1 of many renovations we have completed & are making more improvements in the Park now & in the future.
Thanks for your feedback, much appreciated.

We were expecting the worst after reading reviews, but we were pleasantly surprised. New managers just started 4 weeks ago, though very unorganized in office and inexperienced, they will get the hang of it. Yes the shop closed too early (5pm) for ordering dinner, who wants to eat at that time. Newish facilities were very clean, with paper towels, soap hand dryers, some older facilites available were clean but need renovating. As for the pool, it was very clean and inviting, our grandkids swam in it up to 7.00pm and it did not look as though it was going to be closed. Big water slide does not work and is old. The caravan park is terreced with great views across Lake Hume, though a bit dusty. The best bit was swimming in the Hume Dam everyday, clear clean water, with sandy beach and big gum trees to sit under for shade. We survied 45 degree heat, just by swimming in dam and sitting under trees catching what breeze that came off the water. If your children need entertaining there is only swimming. Our grandkids, (9 and 6 years old) who have all the mod cons electronics etc. which they left home. Had with drawals for one day, then they loved it, back to basics, playing cards, carades, talking and swimming. It was a great holiday and we would all go back again. The town of Albury is only 15minutes down the road for supplies.

Hi Back748, thanks for taking the time to review our Park & thank you for your positive comments. We've heard much feedback on our Kiosk closing too early for dinners, so we're making a new improved menu & closing at 8pm after the Easter period. We'd love to have you back again.
Take care on your travels.

HI DarrynP, thanks for your review, that was nice of you. Yes we have green grass around the park now, amazing what a little sprinkle of water will do. Our staff are friendly, thanks, it's easy to be when being around delicious ice creams all day... Camp fires are fun of the evenings aren't they, I hope you had a little sing along. Our amenities have certainly gone through alot of changes, thanks for noticing.

1 of 5 stars Reviewed October 10, 2012

We recently stayed here and were very disappointed. As per the entry above, we stayed in the "deluxe cedar cabin" and there was nothing deluxe about it. We could have paid $10 more and stayed in a town-house styled house with a garage, just up the hill at the Resort. I regret that we didn't. Even though they are stand-alone cabins, we could hear everything in the next cabin, from guests walking around the cabin, to the tv, to the flushing of the toilet.

The staff were unhelpful. The bbq facilities were atrocious. The function room should have been condemned - it was falling down and had a filthy kitchen with rat droppings everywhere.

There is a slide with a pool that isn't in service. The communal toilet blocks are filthy.

I felt like asking for a refund. For $165 per night, they should have paid me to stay there. I will never go there again.

It's such a shame that it is in such a state of disrepair. If some money was spent on it and a good management team was put in place, it could be a really great place to stay. The setting on the Lake is just gorgeous. Apparently this place wil be taken over soon, but I won't ever go back there. My advice is to stay up the road at the Resort.

Considering they are touted to be four star cabins, the "deluxe cedar cabins" are disappointing. The lack of maintenance was evident before we even stepped inside with a scrap of what was once a hessian doormat outside the entrance, on a cold, wet and very muddy day. Inside, the curtains and sofa were shabby and in need of a clean and the kitchen was grubby, a couple of wine glasses (we bought two and left them there) would have been nice, as would a coffee table and extra comfy seating, a two seater sofa in a cabin that sleeps six?. Some lights just didn't work at all, and I was surprised there were no electric blankets on any of the beds. The reverse cycle a/c worked well so we didn't freeze. Bathroom could have done with a good scrub as well. The view is lovely although we had to go out of the park to a boat ramp to put our boat in the dam.
For the most expensive cabins in the park they just could have been cleaner and better maintained. Management needs to look at its cleaning staff. We won't be back.
