“Very relaxing!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 29, 2013

My wife and I spent two nights at Four Mounds and loved it! We stayed in the master suite in the white house which was fantatic. Breakfast was great! We were there during the week and actually had the whole house to ourselves. The place is very peaceful and secluded. Very nice place and friendly people! Highly recommend!

My husband & I had our wedding at Four Mounds a couple of weeks ago. Marie, Liz & the whole team were hospitable & helpful. We rented both houses out for the weekend and had full range to everything in both of them. We brought a lot of our own stuff but having an option to use the kitchen supplies was convenient for the caterer, Trumpet Blossom Cafe (Iowa City). All around this place is beautiful, well-kept, & great for bird watching too! The inns are on top of the bluffs looking out at the Mississippi River as well as being surrounded by acres of woodland. They also support a ropes course! If you are a fan of mission style furniture or the Arts & Crafts movement then this is your place. The Gray House is completely designed based off of the Arts & Craft movement. I truly recommend visiting Four Mounds Inn.

We attended a wedding at Four Mounds last week-end. It was the perfect location! Great views of the Mississippi, 2 beautiful and well-maintained old houses, lucious grounds and landscaping. The wedding couple said that the staff was exceptionally helpful and accommodating in planning for the event.

The Inn is so beautiful and tasteful, we loved the casualness of it all. The innkeepers were so nice to us and made us feel like family. The rooms were very comfortable and since we were the only guests, we got to choose our own room. We will come back here again in other seasons too. The breakfast was great. The scenery and the wild birds were just what we enjoy so much. They had lots of books and magazines to read in each room and the main living room too. Highly recommend this place!

My wife and I recently stayed for just one night, but wished we could have stayed much longer. This sumptuous estate was wildly beyond our highest expectations. The accommodations and breakfast were amazing...we had to pinch ourselves to reemind ourselves that we were not dreaming ! Caretakers Marie and Liz were wonderful guides and down-to-earth conversationalists. At night it was just silent leading to a very restfull sleep. The morning sun streaming through the windows above the river was our wake-up call. Fresh coffee and a gourmet breakfast amply fueled us for our day of travel. This is one of those places that I had to question myself about revealing too much on the internet as I hoped it would remain untained by the unwashed masses! We look forward with more time in a milder season to explore this estate further.

Room Tip: All the rooms are awesome. In the Grey House, we stayed in the Master Suite, while deeply admiring...

very lovely, very peaceful, warm & welcoming refuge. We stayed over in the White House w/ a view over the snow-covered, frozen river in bright clear light. A lovely romantic escape, a brief away-from-the-world feeling

My husband and I rented the Grey House and the cabin last weekend. We got married in the Grey House and it was so beautiful. The staff was great and the location was unforgettable. All of our guests were talking about the place for the rest of the weekend. The best weekend of my life in a beautiful place, it doesn't get any better than that:)
