Hilton Honors is one of the hotel loyalty programs to which I belong, and Hampton inns are fairly predictable as to the quality of lodging and breakfasts. We were in Des Moines to see "Jersey Boys" ( a must see show by the way !) and I had to choose from among three Hampton Inns. This one was actually the farthest west by a few miles and I had concerns about being right next to the airport, but this turned out to be the best choice. I relied upon other Trip Advisor reviews, and we heard no noise from the airport. I used some of my Hilton points to help offset the costs of the show tickets and travel expenses as Des Moines is 225 miles from home. That is quite a ways to go to see a show, but that is how good "Jersey Boys" is, and it wasn't going to be any closer to us any time soon! All the stores and restaurants one would want are along the same four lane boulevard as is this Hampton, except Red Lobster, which we wanted to go to for dinner, but that was only six miles further northwest. Our room on the first floor was quiet, good size, clean, and comfortable with a good air conditioning unit. There was plentiful free parking, the building is secure, requiring key cards to enter all doors, and the breakfast was typical Hampton, but the coffee is not good. My wife wouldn't even drink it. (The afternoon cookies were excellent, which I have a weakness for.) There was adequate seating for those eating breakfast. With the airport so close, many of the clientele appeared to be business people but there were some families present. The hotel seems to be popular but it was quiet the one night we stayed there. Not sure what would ever bring us back to Des Moines, which is a typical nice, friendly Iowa city, but if we do return, we will stay at this Hampton inn again.
