Interesting and well presented. Lots of space available for more though as we felt there could have been more

“Surprisingly nice”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 2, 2013

The Figge has quite a collection for a small town art museum. The temporary exhibits are usually interesting as well, with a mix of local and youth talent as well as more well know artists.

“Wish we could give the Figge six stars!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2013

Cannot say enough good things about the Figge! We absolutely loved it! Permanent exhibits as well as special installations were wonderful, and the building itself is spectacular inside and out. It is a manageable size, too. We spent the morning, went out for lunch, and came back in the afternoon, and we saw everything. There is no cafe, but a very nice gift shop that features some local artists. Art lovers, do not miss this!

“An enjoyable afternoon with the wife”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 16, 2013

We were visiting from Texas and went to the Farmer's Market in Davenport on the Mississippi (a very good one in our opinion). While driving around, we saw a nice looking building so walked over to see what it was and it was the Figge Art Museum. It was late morning so we went in and saw some great stuff. Especially enjoyed the Frank Lloyd Wright exhibit and found a couple of other very interesting pieces.
Inside the exhibits was a tad on the warm side and not sure if this is by design or being frugal. In any event, Go visit the Figge

“Excellent museum for a city this size.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 28, 2013

I enjoyed Iowa native Grant Wood's work in a large exhibit. Also works from Picasso, Miro, Matta, Lloyd Weber, and Lichtenstein are in the permanent collection. There was also an excellent Jackson Pollock exhibit with his work "Murel." It is currently on tour. Best collection of Haitian art I have seen outside of Miami. Overall very impressive for a smaller city.
