We had stayed at this hotel back in April and had a horrible experience! After a review on here, the manager called us up and offered two free fun packages.
Well, stayed there last Saturday, and believe it or not, this stay was far WORSE than the first one! Go to the restaurant to get our pizzas and ask for two high chairs...they were having a wedding reception and a NA convention. We were told, sorry, but the wedding reception has all the high chairs. Took an hour and a half to get our pizza. Got a little cup with about 2 tablespoons of parmesan cheese (we had 4 pizzas between us all). When we asked for more...sorry, that's all they have. Asked for salt and pepper....yep, you guessed it...sorry the wedding reception has them all!
Our room would not get below 80 degrees even though we had the temp ALL the way down. They did bring us a fan, thankfully! My daughter asked for a crib and they brought her one with two slats hanging out! Another phone call to front desk! Their door knob was broken...another phone call to front desk!
But here is the best part.....the next morning, my daughter realized they left their video camera in the drawer. Went up to the hotel...nope, not in the drawer. When they asked if the room had been rented since they were in it....nope. So they knew it had to be an employee! The hotel said the maid for that room was supposed to be in that morning, but hadn't shown up yet. They went down to the police station to file a report. Soon, the Clarion called to say (surprise, surprise) the camera had shown back up! Yeah! Daughter gets the camera home and there are pictures of the maid's kids and house as well as an audio of a man saying "let's hock it"...female says "no, they'd have my name" then he says "well let me hock it". After another phone call to the Clarion, they admitted they have video of the maid putting the camera back in lost and found.
So, they can call and offer me a free room....heck, they could offer me the entire hotel for the night...but I won't take it. Will never, ever go back!!!!! Stay away!!!!

The management and staff of the Davenport Clarion take the safety and security of all our guests very seriously. All our employees must pass a back-ground check before they begin working. Each year we log and return, literally, hundreds of lost and found items ranging from pillows and car chargers to diamond rings and laptops. Still, the hospitality field will never be completely without incident unless we become an industry controlled by machines. We strive to hire the very best people possible; unfortunately people do, at times, make very poor choices. It is due to this human factor that we always encourage guests of any hotel to make use of complimentary safes. We know that it seems like a hassle to take your valuables to the desk each time to be secured, but they are just that, secured. And it is far less likely that you will forget something that is secured in a safe deposit box than you are to forget something that you have hidden in drawer or behind the drapes. While we can and do fix doors, deliver new cribs and bring high chairs to the restaurant as quickly as possible to try to make things right, we can not apologize enough when employee issues are those at the forefront. But we can, and do, make certain that those staff members who have been the greatest problem do not continue to serve in our employ.
