“Putnum is a midsize museum experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 22, 2012

The museum is a worthwile experience, not on Par with the Field Museum, or any of the larger museums, but an educational experience in its midsize class. The I-max theater is there for an additional cost too.

“Museum with Imax theater”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 12, 2012

This is a very good natural history museum with exhibits depicting river and midwest history. They also have mummies and an attached Imax theater that runs a variety of movies.

“$42.00 for 1 Adult and two children OVERPRICED”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed April 10, 2012

Went to the Dinosaurs Unearthed exhibit yesterday and was astonished that it cost so much and the exhibit was very minimal. The rest of the museum had not been maintained as four of the activity portions did not work.On the website it stated that they charged extra for the dinosaur exhibit but did not say it was $10.00 on top of the $7.00 so an adult cost is $17.00 and the kids were $12.50 each,I feel very expensive for the quality of the exhibit, even my 8 year old grandson who loves museums said that wasn't very much to see.We went last spring to The Abraham Lincoln Library and Museum in Springfield and it was much cheaper and much more entertaining and educational.Probably will not be going back here for there special exhibits!

“Nice place to visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 28, 2012

We found this museum several years ago. We have been here every time we have been back in this neck of the woods. The exhibits are a bit spread out, but the quality of the displays and the variety make you forget you have to walk a little bit more. One of my favorite displays is the walk through history.

“Ummmm...........?”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2011

Went here for the Titanic exhibit. It was overpriced for what was there. Super disappointed that no photos were allowed to be taken. They acted like it was a felony to even have a camera out. The best thing about the exhibit was the replica of the iceberg. As for the museum, zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz........ Better exhibits for free online.
