“Average okay stay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 18, 2013

We were happy with the hotel's easy to find location . Lobby is welcoming, but we had some confusion at the front desk. I asked for a lower level room at the time of reservation, but was originally placed in an upper floor, they did switch it for us. I had requested a roll-away, but that wasn't noted. --We did get one after an hour because the staff forgot to get it for us and we had to ask again. It's a small, but clean hotel. The baked cookies were nice esp. traveling with children.
We were sad to see the spa totally covered up the entire weekend, not in order. We didn't ask about it to find out what was going on. Another downside was the small and congested breakfast nook. The breakfast itself was good, if you could fight the crowds to get what you wanted. I think this hotel could use a larger room for breakfast, and a more motivated staff--we had to ask for pool towels twice, while the laundry overflowed.
That said, it's okay for a night or a quick weekend with it's convenient location. I wouldn't stay for an extended length of time.

the hotel was nice looking inside and out and the employees were very courteous. The room was clean and spacious. The only complaint I have is the hot portion of the breakfast. It was not very good and they should upgrade or get rid of the hot portion. Other than that it was an enjoyable stay.

Room Tip: Find a place nearby that serves breakfast.

This was a last minute stay, and I can say that this is a nice place that I would recommend to anyone who might be staying over in the area.
Comfortable rooms and nice atmosphere.
The location is great the staff are also very friendly.

Nice clean rooms with an inviting lobby...fireplace, lending library and nice looking open staircase and cookies! Beds were very comfortable with down comforters. Better than average breakfast. Parking was good, and a nice central location. Rooms and hallways were quiet. The pool was warm...nice on a 3 degree above zero day. We will use this motel again in the future.

We booked in advance online for a two night stay. Staff is friendly and room was ready for us even though we checked in a half hour early. Breakfast is adequate and room is about what you might expect from Country Inn & Suites, but our room has a broken couch in it. On check-in the front desk told us they were aware that the hide a bed was broken in the room, and we said we wouldn't need it as a bed as long as the couch worked. Sadly, the couch is not usable except at the very outside edge. Impossible to sit on as a couple. Not a deal breaker, and we let it go.

However, our second day when we left the room just before noon without having had housekeeping stop by yet, we put the "please clean room" card in our door to let them know we had left. Unfortunately, this card has the "do not disturb" sign on the back side. You push it into the key slot, and the picture is different on either side of the card, so I imagine housekeeping is meant to recognize it, but it's a bad system. We returned to find a card pushed under our door that informed us that since the "do not disturb" card was in the door, our room had not been made up. It wasn't a huge deal, and they were very nice about immediately bringing us fresh towels when I called, but be aware probably at any Country Inn and Suites that you are likely better off just not putting a "please make up the room" card in the door to avoid a similar mishap. I have often found on a multiple night stay that it's awkward getting the room made up during the best hours for the guest (avoiding nap times for kids etc.) Maybe hotel chains would be well advised to think this through.

Overall it's a decent place to stay, and the executive suites do allow for a very quiet stay with an extra door between the bed and the hallway.

Room Tip: I think all the rooms will be fairly quiet, but I would heartily recommend the suites for that extra...

This was actually the second night on our bus tour. We've never stayed at a Country Inn & Suites branded hotel before so we really don't know if it lives up to the chain standards or not.

Our room was clean and ready for our arrival. Room 302 was nice and had 2 queen beds, blankets in the closet area but there were very few accessible electrical outlets. So running the computer and charging the cell phones and camera batteries was a challenge. The A/C unit had controls on the unit, not controlled by thermostat, as most places nowadays. There was a small table with 2 chairs, and an upholstered chair. It was a comfortable room and we enjoyed the upholstered chair. The internet was easy to connect to and speedy.

The bathroom vanity was spacious, although the bathroom was smaller than other chains. The bathroom could have used a coat of paint to freshen it up. I was amazed to see that the towels in the bathroom were "made in the USA". Yeah!!!

There was one small elevator; they really could have used several elevators. Our bus tour was primarily made up of seniors, some walking with canes and quite a few of us with bad knees.

The breakfast area only had about 6 tables and was small. The breakfast was apples, oatmeal, 4 kinds of cold cereal, bagels, muffins, eggs, sausage gravy & biscuits, danish and one Belgian waffle maker. There was juice and coffee and tea was available in the lobby.

There was one computer in the lobby area for use. No fitness center, but the front desk said that they had an agreement with the YMCA, just a couple minute walk from the hotel, so that the hotel guests could get a pass to use the Y's facilities.

There was really nothing to complain about and our check in was done by the bus tour company, but everyone at the front desk greeted us with a smile and warm hello.

Had to say this was the nicest group of people to have stayed with. We were visiting the Quad Cities for the first time and Barb Kessler was the manager there and she went out of her way to tell us about the great places to see and even the quaint little places that the regular guides don't even mention.
The hot breakfast was great! Each morning was a different kind of egg served with sausage and hash browns and etc. Never left the morning hungry. The young lady taking care of the breakfast buffet was "Chloe" She was the most friendly, cheerful and efficient little worker we have ever seen. She remembered us each morning and would always ask if we needed anything. She never stood still, she's a little whirlwind of energy.

We had a very pleasing 4 days there and the staff rates a definite 5 stars to us!!

Room Tip: First floor was very quiet and convenient.
