“Nice upgrade”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013 via mobile

I made the reservation through booking.com. When I arrived the clerk upgraded me to a kingsize suite at no additional cost. The room was spacious, just slightly dated. Breakfast was average. The motel was quiet.

AJ (manager/owner) this is the review I said I would leave for you on how you do business.

I had family coming into town for a weekend stay so I reserved a room at the this place made the reservations very late on a Thursday the gal apparently was to busy for all my questions and hung up on me before I was even finished. I should have taken that as a sign of how things are done around this place. I had checked in about 4pm Fri and went to the room to hang out until they arrived. The gal at the desk said she would have the roll away brought down for me. My family was running late so at 815pm I decided to return home and have them meet me at my place. Roll away had not been brought down so on the way out I asked a gentleman n the hallway for it along with a extra set of towels. He set down the mop as if he was going to get it rt away and take it to the room. All seemed well. My family arrives and visits and heads to the room about 1130pm shortly after they called to see where I left the tv remote as they could not find it. The rollaway n towels had been left in room however remote missing. Meantime my young niece gets up on the chair to turn the tv on while waiting for a remote from the front desk. THE TV COMES ON WITH PORN ON IT. I had been watching animal plant while I was n the room. The next morning when I went to ment them I went to the front desk to see who was n our room watching tv after I left along with the bed also not being as I left it. The gal at the desk called for the manager AJ and I along with my niece n her mother explained what had happen. He said they don't have any porn channels but cinamax n hbo may have been one of those channels. However avoided the fact the remote was missing and channel changed and bed not as I had left it and started talking about people who stay with all kinds of expensive equipment and never have any complaints. He said he would review the cameras n get back to me. I wrote down my number and personally handed it to him so he had no excuse to not follow up. We passed him several times coming n going though out the day without him addressing the issue further with us. The next morning 24hrs later after him passing us a couple times already we once again asked him who had been n our room enjoying it. He tryed to tell us no one as housekeeping had left the rollaway n the hall which was untrue cuz it was n the room along with the extra set of towels I asked for. He gave us the run around as he didn't see anyone going into the room n when asked to see the footage he had one excuse after another that it takes a very long time to get to. Not once did he ever say he was sorry or any kind of appolige. At this point we informed we would b checking out early. Went to front desk to check out and when asked why we were checking out before our resevations ended we gladding explained it to the her along with the our guest n the lobby. At least she said I'm sorry about all that mean time answering the phone for legnthy moments making other reservations and answering questions, very rude if u ask me. She had charged my card instead of asking for cash as it was noted how I would b paying she didn't know how to correct it and had to call the manager AJ. He is such a coward he wouldn't even come to the front desk to help her because it was for us and had her call someone else who was off duty. On the way back to the room he saw us coming and quickly went into the kitchen area to avoid us. We packed up and was getting ready to walk out the room when the phone rang and what do u know it was AJ. He wanted to comp us a nt n a bigger room(which was no need for a bigger room). Still with no appolige. Already packed up and half of us loaded into the car I declined and explained id much more rather share my stay with every review site that I can SO NO ONE ELSE'S CHILDREN ARE EXPOSED TO PORN. and yet still no appolige and was billed in full for sharing our room with who only knows who. We were not looking for a free room had he simply apoliged n maybe moved us to the same size room we would have been more then satisfied feeling a little safer about leaving our belongings n the room but we had packed up n took everything with us when we went out Fri not knowing who else had access to our room.

However the lady running the breakfast was absolutly wonderful (the only one of the bunch) and propmtly refilled anything that was empty. Swimming pool was cold not very heated as it says it is. Hallways littered with garabage though out the day.

Stayed there two nights for a conference. This motel is just across a bridge from downtown Omaha, has a giant pool, flat screen tvs, hot breakfast with many items, good shower and the rooms with a suite are very good sized. Older motel but clean and kept up well. The staff was very friendly and I have stayed there many times. There is a very new convenience store next door and many restaurant options near the motel. Took the shuttle to the conference and everyone was really friendly. If you are looking for a brand new motel, this isn't it but if you are looking for a great value, with remodeled rooms and a good stay, this is it. Very smart choice if you have downtown Omaha activities or need to get to the airport. I would recommend it.

Positives:
*Great shuttle service around to downtown events, especially to Century Link Center. Both drivers I used were very nice & prompt.
*One gal working was very sweet & helpful. Other one who worked during the day on Saturday, Feb. 9 2013 was borderline rude & not helpful at all.
*Location: close to downtown & airport
*Price: cheap. BUT you get what you pay for obviously

NEGATIVES:
*ROOM WAS old, wallpaper bubbling & ready to fall off in places. The coffee pot was setting on top of a the console holding the microwave & fridge but there was no outlet to plug it into that the cord reached so we had to move it; the coffee & sugar/creamer packets provided were old & disgusting. Bed was very very hard.
*Shower took FOREVER TO GET HOT & then when it did it didn't get very hot & got stuck on that one setting.
*INTERNET-or LACK OF: was promised free Wi-Fi internet but we couldn't get it in our room since we were on 2nd floor & I was told the local cable/internet provider was coming that day but never did so I was not able to do any business on my computer except in the lobby.
* Cleaning staff was nasty-there was less than a 1/4 of paper left on the toilet paper roll in the bathroom & no spare one anywhere. I asked the cleaning staff for another one & she told me she couldn't believe that 2 people could use that much toilet paper in 3 days. There wasn't even enough kleenex to use instead of the toilet paper.
*BREAKFAST ROOM. My spouse went down for breakfast before 8:00 am & everything, including the coffee was out & the couple apples left were badly bruised. He asked the gal working in there if she was going to make more coffee or put out anything else for food & she said no but if he was hungry the gas station nearby sold breakfast food as did the Wendy's across the street.
*Couch in the seating area side of the "suite" was disgustingly dirty & stained [as was most of the carpeting in the room] & when we looked at the hide-a bed part of it it was even worse! Thank heavens we didn't need to use it.

It really was not that much cheaper than staying at one of the casinos or even a nicer, newer hotel a bit farther west. We stayed there mostly to get the Quality Inn rewards points. Probably not again.

Room Tip: Don't get one on the second floor if you want any internet access or hot water.

I stayed at the Quality Inn for two nights to attend an event in Omaha. I knew most of my time would be spent out of the room, so was looking for something cheap and convenient and this hotel was both. It is located on a main street that leads right into downtown Omaha, for a quick 3 minute drive to the city. There is also a connected 24hr gas station and a Wendys across the street if anyone needs last minute items. The staff was friendly, gave recommendations on local pizza delivery and later asked if I enjoyed it. The breakfast was disappointing, but I arrived late so could be better earlier.in the morning. The room itself was decant with a microwave and refrigerator. Only downsides were my room phone rang twice asking for the front desk (avoid rm 111) and it can can be a little tricky to find off I29. If you are looking for a basic, no frills place that is chealer than downtown rates, I suggest the Quality Inn.

Stayed one nite with our travel trailer in tow on our way down to southern Texas. Clerk at the front desk was helpful with a suggestion for dinner at a place close by. Helped us get a good parking spot, just outside our room, for our truck and trailer. Hot continental breakfast was also a plus. I would certainly stay again.

Stopped as a layover as part of a longer trip. Very quiet, slept very well. Came through just after a blizzard. Parking lot was only partially cleared. Would definitely stay here again. Good hot breakfast.
