“Quiet little place, a small drive to Omaha”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2010

There is very little to do in council bluffs. There are a few casinos around and near by is the Outdoor World which is a beautiful shopping place for outdoor and hunting equipments that I recommend everyone go to. If you planned on going to Omaha but don't want to spend too much on hotels, the springhills is a good alternative and is only a few minutes drive to Omaha although you have to take the freeway. I recommend if you do stay in the springhills with plans to go to Omaha, drive or rent a car because taxis can be expensive. Theres free internet/breakfast at the springhills. Also has a pool/hot tub and free parking. The casinos nearby are played by mostly old retired people so don't expect las vegas.

My original reservation was at the Best Western White House Inn nearby. But, after dealing with a BED BUG INFESTATION, I obviously had to find another hotel. So, around 2am, I ended up getting a reservation at SpringHill. The front desk receptionist was SOOO helpful and understanding. Her name was Diane. :) She couldn't believe the experience I had at Best Western and even gave me an upgrade to a jacuzzi suite!! :) She set me up with places to order food and made it clear that she was there to help with anything I needed. After the bed bug experience at Best Western, I was upset, shaken up, and in major need of a good night's sleep. SpringHill made it happen! THANK YOU!!! :)

This was a great hotel. There was ample parking out front and the staff was great. The staff were so helpful and our check-in was speedy.

The room was very clean and it had a small fridge and a microwave. There was plenty of space in our room for all of us. The beds were so comfortable and the room was quiet at night. No noise from the people above.

The morning breakfast was crowded but there was plenty of tables. The food was what you'd expect from a hotel breakfast. There was cold cereal, waffles, eggs, sausage, breads and pasteries...... An assortment of drinks.

This was a great hotel and close to the zoo. I would stay here again.

We drove in to this hotel late without a reservation. Although the city was busy with the College World Series, the staff was accomodating, welcoming at midnight, and cheerful in the morning. The room was clean and comfortable. We will be returning in July and hopefully will be able to stay again.

Our 11 year old baseball team stayed here for a tournament. We found the hotel very good for this purpose. The entire hotel was full of baseball kids, so if you go in The summer ask about this as the pool got pretty loud.

I am very disappointed that the hotel does not honor their complimentary rooms when presented. I was told I had to give my credit card for incidentals. Then I get charged $60 for a complimentary room. This has happened twice in the past three weeks. I have tried talking to management about it and they will not return my calls. What a scam!!! We are given the complimentary rooms by an area business because we travel 2 hours each way, and our rooms are part of the deal. So I am not the only one getting ripped off but so is the area business who paid for the complimentary certificates. WHAT A SCAM!!!

4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 14, 2010

Stayed here for three days while attending a conference at the Mid-America Center. It's a great choice for people looking for a business-convenient hotel . The hotel is not connected to the convention hall, but it's about only a 3 minute walk away. I can imagine this walk possibly being miserable in case of rain or snow. An one-way taxi metered-fare from OMA to the SprillHill Suites should cost approximately $17.50 (without traffic). The hotel is located near (walking distance) to a Famous Dave's, Bass Pro Shop, and the Horseshoe Casino... and that's about it. There isn't much else near the Mid-America Convention Center.

My room was clean and spacious, but nothing to write home about. Complimentary internet access was much appreciated, the flat screen tv is a good distraction after long days at a convention, and the bed is comfortable. Breakfast is not exciting but is convenient and complimentary. There's not a restaurant at the restaurant, so you'll have to look else where for lunch and dinner. I had a pretty tasty dinner for $16.00 (including a $2 delivery charge) from the nearby restaurant located at the Bass Pro Shop.

Speaking with colleagues that stayed at other comparable hotels, I gathered that most people will be trying the SpringHill Suites next year.

Well-Appreciated
1. Friendly and helpful front-office and cleaning staff
2. Complimentary breakfast
3. Complimentary internet access
4. Free HBO

Slight Inconveniences
1. The wall are a bit thin, I heard... umm... lots.
2. The air-conditioning unit in my room was VERY loud.
3. My room's floor shook for some odd reason at random times during the day.
