Hotel was clean and well kept. We stayed in a jacuzzi suite, and it was a very large room, great jacuzzi, and comfortable bed. The rate was the best in town, (we drove around to 5 other hotels checking prices) and it was the closest to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. They had a soup supper, cookies, hot chocolate, milk, juices, coffee, and tea, all included in the price, so we didn't even leave the property for supper. Their breakfast was one of the best continental breakfasts I've had in a long time. The pool was nice, my only complaint was that there were quite a few bugs in the pool area. Overall it was a great stay, and we will be back again!

Staff was friendly. Our room was ok. Room was clean, and bed was ok. Hotel was quiet, and had a small pool. Seems descent enough, but was definitely nothing special. Quite average. But I should mention that the room our other party got was not as nice. Apparently the hotel was trying to remodel many of their older rooms, and they had reserved a non-smoking room (which apparently had just been recently repainted and attempted to be converted from a smoking to a non-smoking room). It was hard to even breathe in that room with the strong smell of new paint and smoke. They didn't have much of a choice due to circumstances that night, but at least they didn't have to spend much time in their room.

I had to stay in Iowa City for work and this is where my company placed us. I was worried because I had never heard of it but I was very impresseed. The hotel was very busy, but the staff was well prepared and everyone knew exactly what they were suppose to be doing. Breakfast was always stocked and the room was clean. The beds were so comfortable and our room even had a couple of recliners in it. If I ever need to come back to town I will defintly be calling the Heartland Inn first. Their customer service skills were outstanding.
