“Excellent Food and great view”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2012

I recently visited the IRPC for a business dinner. We had a large crowd of around 20. The appetizers were calamari and stuffed mushroom caps. Both were very good and the calamari stood out as excellent. For dinner I had a filet and also tomato bisque. The soup was very good and the filet was a nice cut of meat. My only complaint is that it was cooked more done the requested. I would think that was due to the large group.

“On The Banks of the Iowa River”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 17, 2012

The view of the Iowa River is spectacular from the windows. I've visited here several times. The service is always good. But while their rib-eye's rock, it depends on who is cooking. Twice the steak was done to perfection. Two other times- overcooked. Still, worth a visit, especially in the winter when eagles visit the river to swoop down on unsuspecting fish. Truly, a carnivore's place.

“Good Dinner after a long day”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 15, 2012

My traveling friend and I were able to walk from our hotel, the Baymont, to this restaurant. I had noticed during my pre trip research that the bar menu was much less expensive than the restaurant menu. We enjoyed a couple of cocktails and split the soup and salad dinner. The nice bartender even had the kitchen split the salad and soup before it even got to us.

“Outstanding food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2012

It's been a few years since I've had a meal here and, while the view of the dam and spillway is great, it's the food that will bring me back. I dined with friends and family on a Sunday eve recently at the IRPC and was a little apprehensive when I saw very few people in the restaurant. Not to worry. The generous portion of salmon was flaky and moist, the hollandaise sauce flavorful and light, and the black pepper house salad dressing was an excellent choice. Be sure to splurge for dessert - my raspberry creme brule was a perfect compliment to the meal. What a wonderful chef and crew. Now if only they'd update and lighten up the decor, it'd be a fabulous overall experience.

“Great place with a neat view”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 20, 2012

This is a really neat place to go to during Jan and Feb. It sits along side of a river with a dam. During the winter when the river is frozen this is the only place with open water so you the eagles gather here and sit in the trees looking for fish. It is really neat to sit and eat and watch the eagles flying down and catching fish! I've seen 7 eagles at one time flying around this restaurant.
