“Lunch spot in Clive”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 25, 2013

I recently went to lunch at John and Nicks and found the food and service excellent. The salad bar had a nice selection of fresh items that were a nice compliment to my turkey club sandwich. My sandwich was almost too large to get in my mouth without falling apart. The soup was also well done. The atmosphere was perfect for a business setting. I hate trying to discuss business over clattering dishes and the acoustics here made it easy to have a conversation. After I had lunch I mentioned going to John and Nicks and someone said they got a Philly Cheese Steak there one time made with Philly cream cheese. I laughed because that certainly isn't the way to make one of Philly's greatest exports! When back in Des Moines this weekend I tried to have lunch there on Sunday and was disappointed that it was closed for lunch on Sunday.

“Good food and atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2013

We went on a Thursday. I had the lunch special shish-ka-bob, which was very good. My friend had the Reuben, which she loved. Another friend ordered the prime rib sandwich. We all enjoyed our food and the salad bar. The booths are wide and more private than many restaurants. The steak is very good quality and cooked just as we wanted.

“Wonderful food & Atmosphere!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2013

We usually try to go out early and got in about 5, no wait, excellant service!!
Had the bacon wrapped scallops for appetizer, they were melt in your mouth good!
The salad bar has plenty to offer and everything was very fresh, our waitress told us all the salads were made fresh in house daily, I believe it!! Hub had the New York and I had Prime Rib, they were both excellantly prepared, seasoned and cooked exactly how we wanted! Very, very good food and we'll definitely be going back!!

“Eh, it was ok.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 21, 2013

- Salad bar as really good & had a lot (60) options. It was also included with both our meals.

- We got bread at the table

- Grilled salmon w/ potatoes was $19.95. (salmon overcooked, potatoes really good)

- Fried shrimp w/ potatoes was $16.95 (good)

- They must be charging you for the salad bar somewhere because the food was wayyy over priced for the quality.

- For a place that has so many steak options, it seemed odd that there is no burger on the menu.,

Overall, it was ok. I prob won't be going back anytime soon
