Hilltop Motel is one of the gems of Clear Lake. Lots for the kids to do while the parents relax. Nice pool, hot tub, game room and lawn games - something for everyone. There are grills and picnic tables and even an oven under a large covered patio. Terri and Jay (the owners and hosts) make everyone feel like royalty. They are genuinely great people who strive to ensure your stay is nothing short of wonderful. Get away from the chain/cookie cutter hotels and stay in this great, old-fashioned slice of heaven.

This is a hidden gem, right out in the open. Two blocks from the lake, it is right next to all the action. They have everything you could want here. Awesome back porch with grills and all the utensils you would need with tables to eat at while the kids play in the pool. The rooms are outfitted with fridges and microwaves and there is a DVD library to watch movies in your room. The service beats it all with kind and attentive owners. This is our second stay, and won't be our last. My only hang up is the small shower stall. 15 minutes of my day compared to the rest of the 23 hours and 45 minutes aren't going to bring me down!

We have been going to the Hilltop for a few years now and we absolutely love it! The atmosphere is great and you couldn't ask for better hosts...they always make us feel like VIP's! My kids love the pool & hot tub and we love sitting around the patio enjoying a cold beverage. There is no better place to relax!

Our family has been guests of the Hilltop in Clear Lake Iowa since 1975! We typically have 11 rooms each year at the Hilltop with about 30 guests. The Hilltop is one of those magical places that you cannot believe it until you see it and stay there. The Hilltop is located on North Shore. Very close to restaurants, lounges, the town square, shops and of course the beautiful lake. The Surf Ballroom is half block away. I always look forward to my trip to the Hilltop each year since I can totally relax there. Jay & Teri Latimer are wonderful hosts and we enjoy "catching up" after a long Iowa winter. They are like family to us. Eat, drink and be merry. Thank you Hilltop, Jay and Teri for making us feel so welcome!
