I visited charles city IA about 4-months ago. In short I found the people there to be very rude and not friendly to ANYONE from out of town. The only reason I would stop or stay in charles city IA is if my car broke down and I couldn't walk the 30-miles to mason city and didn't have money to pay for a cab.
