Stayed here while passing thru the area. Found using my GPS search, made the call & booked per phone conversation. The clerk on duty gave me one rate on the phone, then was going to charge another when I checked in, but was gracious enough to give me a corporate rate since my company does have a deal setup. He was very pleasant to work with however!! Room was great, bed very comfortable, did not use the pool, hot tub or restaraunt features though. Did hear some traffic noise & people outside leaving the bar area. Other than that, would certainly recommend to others.

Our family spent the weekend in Cedar Rapids to attend a concert at Cornell College in Mount Vernon. We obtained our reservation through an online bidding site so did not select the Best Western Coopers Mill location.
Arriving Friday evening, we were graciously welcomed by Jay at the front desk. Jay was friendly and very accommodating. Lobby has coffee and apples/oranges available throughout the day but no continental breakfast. A computer is available in a small lounge around the corner.
Our rooms were large and all located on the fourth floor. Basic furnishings with a sink in the room and separate stool and tub/shower. Bed was very comfortable. Hallway noise can wake you up during the night if you are a light sleeper.
We ate breakfast in the hotel restaurant which is frequented by many local senior citizens. Reasonable priced large breakfast with good service.
Enjoyed visiting the new Czech museum located a few miles from the hotel. Excellent facility with many exhibits.
While listed as a 3 star hotel and having stayed at the 3 star Marriott hotel previously, I would give the hotel 2 ½ stars in comparing the two properties. For the online price, it was a good value for the weekend.

The Hotel is easy to see from the Highway, but hard to find, navigating all the little side streets. Place is clean, slightly dated, but nice. Room was quiet. Pool and Spa nice, and they get a plus for having a hoist for the disabled to get in and out of the pool and spa! Did not hear a sound all night. Arrived too late to check out the resturant. View of Downtown from our 4th floor room was nice. I would stay again. Watch for deals on this property, I notice the rate varies quite a bit.

Room Tip: Ask for a high floor facing downtown. (if you like Skyline views).

I researched a lot of hotels before deciding to stay at this Best Western. It was a little farther and a little more expensive than some of the other choices in the vicinity I needed to be, but it appeared to be the nicest out of everything else. I arrived in Cedar Rapids on a Wednesday for an appointment and then drove to St. Louis for another appointment. Prior to heading out of Cedar Rapids for Missouri, I checked out the Best Western to see where I would be staying the next day when I headed back to town. From the outside appearance, I became a little skeptical. There was a pile of rubble in the lot next door, and it didn't look great. When I had an opportunity I checked into other hotels in the area, and still determined based on price, amenities and location I decided to stick with my first choice. When I did finally stay there, it was very nice, and very clean and I was impressed. The woman at the front desk was not overly friendly, but she was "ok". I thought the decor and the room were nicely appointed and have a refrigerator and microwave in the room is always a big plus. I would stay here again. I was pleasantly surprised.

Stayed for work. Hotel decor is tired and dated. However it was clean. The breakfast was not included but the breakfast cook does an excellent job. It is quite noisy with a building tear down next door.

Enjoyed 5 days in Cedar Rapids largely because the BW. It's excellent, beyond expectations for accommodation in this category. Seems to have been completely reappointed (since the June 2008 flood). My nice size room facing the Cedar Rapids River was perfect. Superb sleep & comfort in the queen-size bed (Rm 211). New beds, new wall-to-wall carpets, new washroom. new... new... Small refrigerator (taller than mini-bar) with microwave oven set beside the closet. Coffee-making facilities. New flat-screen TV. Hotel's atmosphere is most pleasant, and consistently so. Away from the reception area in the lobby is a PC -- excellent function with the range of standard software -- a convenience for guests. I had absolutely no problems with noise in the hallways or outside my second-floor room, day or night. All staff including Kim, Minera, Raquel, Mark & Gary are so pleasant, practical & approachable. Don't miss the Alphonse Mucha exhibit at the National Czech & Slovak Museum if you are around before Dec 31, 2012. If fine art interests you, know that in addition to the Cedar Rapids Museum of Art, there are significant pieces by Conger Metcalf, Grant Wood & Marvin Cone among others at the Stewart Memorial Library, Coe College. Also, see a show at Theater Cedar Rapids. The river is beautiful farther down from the BW hotel, by the Czech Village.

Room Tip: Request a river view room if you choose to stay here, to be away from the noise of likely constructi...

Nice time with the family in two rooms...on the same floor. Easy to get around town from here.
Beds were awesome!
Service was very friendly on the floor and front desk!
Make sure to check out the Czech Village while in town.
