“Strong Tradition”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2014

If you're visiting Purdue and want to eat at one of the oldest and most well-known establishments, you need to eat at Triple X. They have eggcellent breakfast options and their root beer is the greatest these lips have tasted. Traditional diner style and the service is usually fast. Great stop before or after a Purdue football game.

“Classic Diner!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 21, 2014

You can't drive by and not wonder what is inside that funky orange building! We didn't know that Guy Fieri had been here, but we can see why. It is one of those "real deal" kinds of places that is fun and delicious at the same time. I'll be honest. It wasn't the absolute best hamburger I've ever had, but it was very good. Root beer is a treat too. Wish i'd had room for the pie as I suspect it would be great. Folks sitting around us said that breakfast is good too. This is a local institution, and a definite place to stop by if you are in town.

“Love this place!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 18, 2014

My husband and I have been regulars here for several years. We keep returning because of the excellent service and consistently good food. I have never had a bad meal there, and the servers are very accommodating with my menu requests; it truly is cook-to-order. If you like hanging out with the locals, chatting with the wait staff and meeting visitors from far away, this is the place to come. When I return to the XXX from being on vacation, I always feel like I'm coming home.

“Diners, Drive In and Dives restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2014

Eating here was a fun experience. There are only bar stools inside but there are a lot of bar stools. There were a couple of picnic tables outside. The staff were very friendly. We tried one of the burgers featured on the Diners, Drive In and Dives show. It was a burger with peanut butter on it! It was good. We wanted to split a burger and they put each half in separate baskets with fries. That was nice. The milkshake was SO good.....Fun....

“Triple D recommended diner exceeds expectation!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2014

Don't let the chance to eat breakfast or lunch here pass you by. Not only delicious homemade food, but value and history are included with your meal here. We came twice for breakfast and will be back again when we come to visit our grandson and watch him play basketball at Purdue. #boilerup and eat at Triple XXX, or their other diner, Highway 66! The pecan pancakes are fantastic, sausage tastes great and sausage egg and cheese will just about feed two!!
This is a classic diner and rates a perfect score for that kind of atmosphere, which I love. Bring your appetite!
