“Great School. Not a lot of tourist attractions.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2012

I graduated from Purdue. Its campus is great, but for a tourist just wanting something to see there isn't a lot of attractions. You can go through Memorial Mall, Ross Ade Stadium, and see the buildings, but that is about it.

“A community asset”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2012

For decades Purdue has brought economic stability and cultural offerings to the area. The largest employer in the area, more recently, it's research park has launched high-tech startups. Purdue was established in 1869 as a land grant college. Known as the "cradle of astronauts," it's strengths remain in science, engineering, and agriculture while it adapts to modern expectations. The West Lafayette campus of almost 40,000 students is surprisingly compact with areas devoted to academics, administration, residences, and research. The architecture is largely red brick, most buildings dating from the mid-20th century. Elliott Hall of Music (comparable in size to Radio City Music Hall in New York) is adjacent to the main administration building Hovde Hall. One of the newer buildings, Armstrong Hall, is named for Purdue Alumnus Neil Armstrong, the first man to walk on the moon. Gene Cernan, the last man to walk on the moon, was also a Purdue alumnus.

“Great University, Well Kept Campus”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2012

Purdue is a great public university; especially for engineers. You could tell that engineering is a core strength because it is so central on the campus layout. I was particularly impressed by how clean and well-kept the university landscaping, grounds and buildings are ... this is extremely unique among the Big 10 universities and leads me to believe that other aspects must have equal attention to detail.

Pretty average looking campus - but always had a great time. Fun for football and basketball games
