“Lovelier than lovely”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 4, 2013

What a perfect weekend! At each turn, it got more special. Delightful birding with birds feeding a couple of feet away. The breakfast was almost too beautiful to eat. We ate it joyfully and were almost too full to eat lunch. THe rooms are beautiful and every detail has been designed to give you a wonderful experience. I imagine that each season brings new magic. We would love to be able to experience them all.

We have stayed here several times over the last few years and never had a problem. We stayed Valentines weekend in the Cardinal room, which in our opinion is the best for bird viewing and decor. Have stayed in the winter and never had a problem with the humidity. Had no problems falling asleep on the comfy bed. We stayed two nights and had great breakfasts both days, as usual. We even arranged a pre dinner massage for my wife while I picked up dinner at a recommended restaurant. Both the dinner and massage were great. Had the most enjoyable conversation with the other guests on our second day. Every recommendation on things to do or places to eat have always been great. As usual, will return again later this year.

Room Tip: Again, if you are birders, the Cardinal room has the best vantage point to observe without having to...

Took a gamble on a great deal from LivingSocial.com on a two night getaway to Songbird Prairie in Valparaiso, Ind. Arrived last Thursday evening and was greeted at the door by the owner. Walk inside and first impressions were...wow...super clean, professionally decorated and the owner truly pleased that we were there. Our room was fantastic, huge whirlpool tube with heated floors in the bathroom. Fireplace in room also.
Breakfast at 9am was grommet..literally.
It snowed Thursday night, and Friday morning the owner had shoveled a path to both doors of our Jeep...now that's customer service!
Mary and me are already planning out next visit.
Perfect weekend getaway! With or without a discount.

Room Tip: We had the Blue Songbird Room, I believe it to be the largest just from looking at the other four...

Songbird Prairie B&B us truly one of the most beautiful places we have ever stayed. From the friendly welcome by Barbara when we arrived - to seeing the incredible Robin Suite - to the fantastic gourmet breakfasts prepared by Barbara - everything was better than we imagined. The whirlpool bath for two was terrific. The seeing and listening to the birds while eating breakfast added to dining experience. I would recommend this B&B to everyone. Thanks Barbara to one of the most relaxing experiences we have ever had. Neal and Leslie Weill

Room Tip: The Robin Suite is on the second floor and has EVERYTHING you could ever want in a room.

Songbird is a lovely place. Decorated very nicely. Breakfast room is a very fun experience, watching the many birds feed on the seeders outside the windows. The breakfast was very delicious. The host and hostess are very welcoming. Some advice: if going in winter run your shower to add moisture in the air- extremely dry. Also the bed was EXTREMELY hard, so much so that I had a terrible night's sleep and had a backache the next day. Bring you own pillow unless you like them rock hard.

After a hectic Thanksgiving day, we decided to relax at the lovely Songbird Prairie B&B. Barbara is a "pro" at making you feel comfortable after 13 years of hosting. Our room (Cardinal) was attractive and warm. The large bed was a little too hard for us, however, the plush bedding made up for it. Barbara's breakfasts are worth the trip alone! She is a gourmet chef and it was all delicious. Her attention to detail is perfect. If you are nature lovers then you will find a "haven" at Songbird. I've never seen so many birds! The woods and grounds are wonderful to explore. We'd like to go back in the spring and summer when it would be plush with nature. This is truly a 5 star experience.

Room Tip: Cardinal room was very nice. Two large chairs make the room "cramped". Bed is rather har...

It was amazing, breakfast was outstanding, nothing could have possibly made this any better. The room was immaculate. Barbara was warm and friendly, and ready to help us with suggestions for dinner as well as anything else we needed. We had an amazing time.
