“A Little French Bistro”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2013

What a gem in little Richmond Indiana, Decadent desserts, and rich french pressed coffee of various flavors, The service was excellent, and the decor was tastefully done in an old warehouse, looking forward to returning for lunch next time the quiche looked great.

“Gem in Small Town, Indiana”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2013

O.K. Richmond, Indiana may not consider itself small, but it has more charm and old mansions than you can resist in a lifetime! Ghyslain is a charming french bistro, eatery that we were invited to by my sister-in-law who lives nearby. We met for dinner just prior to taking in "Barefoot In The Park" at the Richmond Civic Theater where my brother, Wayne Greeson regularly appears in plays. We loved the atmosphere, the hot tea served in iron pots with special hot tea timers--cute! and the food was homemade with fresh butter and three salts to choose from on the table--black, pink and another. All quite amazing to find in smalltown midwest America!

“great desserts in Richmond”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 17, 2013

I had lunch at Ghyslain earlier this month (March '13). The leek potato soup was good; very smooth but it could have been seasoned a little more. The quiche was smooth and rich but the ham that was supposed to be a part of it was notable by its absence. The dessert of course was fantastic - one of the best desserts I have ever had. Our server was prompt and very pleasant. On the whole the only thing really outstanding was the dessert!

“Worth 1.5 hours drive for lunch!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 14, 2013

I don't often eat out because I can't stand the same Sysco food served out of buckets at every restaurant chain, so I was thrilled to eat a creative, delicious, and even reasonably-priced lunch at Ghyslain! Open-faced Italian chicken sandwich turned out to be a beautiful presentation of crusty toasted homemade bread with layers of pesto, olive oil, roasted chicken, (red!) tomatoes, topped with generous slabs of melted mozzarella. Mouthwatering...

Server was friendly, and quick to give refill our water, bring extra crunchy bread to the table, and explain the dessert menu. Ahhh, the desserts... Not as reasonably-priced as the entrees, but these aren't ordinary desserts! Took a few home for the family to sample, too.

Ghyslain was my first trip to Richmond, and it's not my last, now. I'm planning to bring the husband back, too. He'll love the food, plus there's an intriguing general store around the block that I know he'd love to investigate!
