“"Nice & relaxing!"”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2012

We had found this place on groupon.com and decided to spend a few days there for a mini vacation for our anniversary. My boyfriend & I were very pleased with our stay, our room was nice & the hot tub was amazing. The only complaint that we really have is that the shower was extremely small & the shower head could not be adjusted so it was very uncomfortable to use. The owners were very friendly, the breakfast was good & the place overall was very nice & relaxing! A few nights is plenty enough time to stay here considering the town does not have much to offer, you have to cross the bridge to Louisville if you want to do anything. We would both recommend this place to anyone looking for a romantic getaway!

Room Tip: The Charles Spurgeon Room is where we stayed & it was great!

We stayed in the "Florence Nightingale" room and really enjoyed it. The bed was comfy and the room was decorated beautifully. There was a garden tub in the bedroom. The breakfast was good with a nice selection of food. The outside sitting area was delightful. I would definitely stay here again.

My fiancé and I were very pleased with our stay! We found it very romantic and relaxing! I disagree with other reviews concerning the host and hostess. We found them very hospitable and welcoming!! Landon told us everything we needed to know, including how to get in touch with him if we needed anything and then let us feel as if the home was ours. His wife was also very friendly and welcoming! Regarding the house I would agree that the garden was the best part but we stayed in the Emerson room and found it more like an apartment than a room!!! I used the garden area as my proposal spot...very romantic!! We have decided to try and return yearly...and want to book the Lincoln room next time. The house is beautiful!!!

Each hour we stayed at Mansion Row Inn was marked by ups and downs. When we first checked in we considered leaving--I agree with the reviews that found the host indifferent and unavailable. However, he did upgrade us to a suite on the top floor (the Emerson suite, which delighted us). The rooms were lovely and the mansion (as well as its location) was charming and beautiful. It was one of the worst nights of sleep I've ever had because of the bed, which sagged in the middle and was quite uncomfortable. If you want to keep the romance alive, don't stay in this room: the toilet is between the bedroom and the kitchen, and there are not any walls/doors, though it is tucked into an alcove. Neither of us felt okay with the open bathroom.

In the morning, a lovely breakfast was provided. The backyard/garden is gorgeous, probably my favorite part of the experience. The good was equal to the bad, but we aren't likely to return.

My boyfriend took me to the Mansion Row Inn as a valentine's weekend. The home is so beautiful and the staff was so great. I loved the big bathtub in our room and the breakfast was probably some of the best food we have ever had. The only downside was the coverlet on our bed was threadbare in some places but I can understand from trying to keep with the tradition of the house. We definitely recommend this place and will definitely be going back!

We chose this B&B due to the fact that it was not too far away and that the rooms looked beautiful online. Our first hint that things would not turn out well was the greeting from the host. Not sure of his name as he did not introduce himself. We arrived ten minutes early due to the disclaimer we agreed to when we rented the room. It stated explicitly that check-in times were to be strictly adhered to. We ended up having to call the number listed on the sign out front after several attempts to raise someone inside. He stated that it was not yet 3:00' the time of check-in. No, it wasn't...it was 2:53. We decided not to let that bother us and ruin our weekend get away. We were hurriedly shown to our room and given a quick tour of where we could find things. We did not feel welcomed at any time during this. He actually ended up putting a new tv in our room when we were first there, something we thought would have been done already as our reservation had been made several days before. We were also left on our own with no further instructions as to where to contact him or what to do in an emergency, if one should arise. We have had much better stays and felt more welcomed in city hotels.
Our room was adequate and the tub was very nice. The decor was very strange....some old, some modern, and some worn out. One of the wing chairs had a hole in it. As far as cleanliness, the bathroom was not clean at all and there was a coffee stain left on the nightstand that was very noticeable and should have been a quick fix.
Breakfast was good, but not of the quality or uniqueness that one would expect in a bed and breakfast, especially at the price we paid.

My new husband and I stayed here after our wedding. I'm sure you've seen photos of the mansion- you walk in the front door and go back in time. The warm and charming atmosphere invites you to take a deep breath and just relax. Surrounded by antiques, vintage decorations, and classical music ambiance it was easy to forget we even had cell phones. Hours into our stay we went ahead booked our room for the next night as well! I also appreciated the paper and hassle free process. I never signed a thing! Landon was an accommodating, calm, easy going man. Much like the mansion, very charming himself. I truly have no complaints. We look forward to our next stay.

Room Tip: Pack warm pj's if you are staying in a room with lots of windows in the winter. The windows are...
