“Vikings Anyone?”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 25, 2013

Created by a Ball State English professor, this place has about 75 beers on tap and hundreds more beyond that. Plus a Viking theme. Plus lots of pierced and tattooed young patrons. If your system can't handle that, then stay away. But, if you like beer and have a sense of fun, definitely go. Tell the bartenders what tastes you like in a beer. They'll offer suggestions and small tastes and go out of their way to make you happy.

“The Heorat is for Beer”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 17, 2013

The Heorat is famous in Muncie for beer. This bar carries over 300 brands with as many as 60 on tap at any one time. The selections changes with the seasons. Draft prices are extremely reasonable. The ambiance is vaguely Celtic/Viking - Heorat was the the mead-hall described in Beowolf. Food choices are limited to the expected pub grub, including pizza.

The Heorat is popular with the City's University crowd and it is quite busy on Friday and Saturday nights. Service is friendly and knowledgeable. On-street parking is easy to find.
