“One of the best”

Great displays, informative, well worth the time off the interstate. And you can stop at Ball State and get that special someone a "Ball U" shirt or hat.

“A Magical Place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 4, 2013

Minnetrista is many things, as diverse as the visitors who come for so many reasons, exhibits, music on the lawn, luminaria walk in winter, faeries\sprites\lights in summer, day camps, school break days, a place for weddings, meetings, dinners, shopping, walking, school field trips and just relaxing. There is a fee for visiting exhibits in the homes, but the grounds are open. The expanded orchard shop combined two smaller shops making it more convenient to find unique and local wares. Across the road is a nature area where anyone can explore, maybe follow a school tour down to the wetlands, sit on the bridge and listen to a story. Or sit on the lawn on the Fourth of July and watch the fireworks after listening to a local band perform , including patriotic tunes. Oakhurst is the name of the home where Miss Elisabeth Ball lived her whole life. She believed in faeries, and in July there are two evenings when little girls and boys can dress up as faeries, sprites, elves or other magical creatures, wander through the grounds looking for signs of faerie homes and other special places, dance in a circle to live musicians, make something special at a craft table and watch a performance on stage under a tent. You can even buy faerie wings at the Orchard Shop. In early December the whole area is lit with luminaria along the paths and roadways. There is hot chocolate and horse drawn carriage rides to enjoy as well as many decorated Christmas trees. Definitely a jewel in the middle of town and worth a visit by yourself, with your sweetheart, or wide-eyed children and grandchildren.

“A great setting for a variety of activities”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

There are so many types of activities supported at Minnestrista: obviously, the cultural center, but also the Farmer's Market, Oakhurst Gardens, walking paths, bike paths, gardens, & apple orchard. Arguably the best place in Muncie; certainly a "can't-miss" for visitors.

“Beautiful Scenery”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

I enjoy walking around Minnetrista and enjoying the many paths and trails that wind through this beautiful area, in which you can enjoy nature and even catch a glimpse various wildlife from time to time, as well as the beautiful gardens. They also have a Farmer's Market every Wednesday evening and Saturday morning, which is just spectacular!

“Overrated Ball Brothers Folly”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

They used to play some music, but haven't done much for years. The museum is cheesy and the whole thing is like a joke.
