We have been to Buddha a number of times in its previous location. Thought we would give it a try in its new location in Mobys Resort.
Booked out Saturday night so went Monday. Quite quiet, mainly families.
Its a scaled down version of fine dining, but the decor and lighting is lacking which wrecks the ambience.
Wine list is very reasonably priced, abd you can BYO too. We ordered a bottle of Semillon, only to have a bottle of dessert wine delivered to the table!! Sent it back of course. Service fail number 1 of the night.
Interesting menu, but with such typos as 'Squeesed juice' rather than 'Squeezed juice', and 'Dinning' rather than 'Dining', I was not expecting much.
Good selection of vego options. Seems to have lost its mainly Asian theme since moving, now fairly 'safe' dishes such as twice cooked duck in master stock. 'Crispy skin teriyaki chicken pancakes' did not come with crispy skin, and was a very safe version of a dish normally served with duck.
Entree: ordered potato and spinach pancakes without the poached egg, only to be served with a large poached egg on top. Fail #2.
Interesting salads though.
Bottle of semillon was 2004 from Hunter Valley, but tasted like it was flat abd missing something. Noticed on the bottle label that it should have been drunk in 2010 at the latest. Fail #3.
Twice cooked duck very nice, as was honey affogato for dessert.
So overall, food great, service shocking (0/5). I preferred it at the old location.
If they improve their service abd ambience, this place will do very well. Abd for this area where good food is hard to come by, it is worth a taste.
