“Perfect for Girls' Weekend!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 26, 2011

We were looking for a place for a Girls' Weekend, with my sister, our two daughters and our mom. We almost didn't look at B&Bs because it was hard to imagine a place could accommodate the five of us without using several rooms, but McKenzie House had the perfect space for us in Nicolle's Suite - three bedrooms with a central dining/kitchenette and living space. We made the most of everything: our suite, the wonderful porches, reading in the sitting room, the Wii in the basement, movie night, games, the hot tub, and even the pool. Briefly. :-) It was hard to go back to Cheerios this morning after the amazing breakfast Sherry and Bruce serve up. There is something for every taste bud in your mouth, whether you like eggy dishes, meats, baked goods, fruit, yogurt, oatmeal, granola, you name it. I can honestly say it was the best breakfast I have every had, which is saying a lot. I guess it wins out for being homemade, piping hot, cooked with love and served with a smile. That on top of the top-notch recipes (e.g. baked peach oatmeal, raspberry cream cheese danish, chocolate cherry muffins, need I go on?) really made it superb. Our family would have had a blast anywhere, but this place definitely exceeded our expectations. Too many special touches to list (okay, have to mention the plush towels and bathrobes), and a genuine welcome which we will look forward to next time.

This is the most outstanding place a person could ever stay. Innkeepers are very personable. They really do make you feel like this is your home. I personally have stayed there four times and will definetly return there to stay on my next visit. I could go on and on about this wonderful bed and breakfast but I recommend you try it first hand. I do want to say the breakfasts are the best and most awesome you could eat anywhere!! You could not go in a restaurant and get anything as outstanding as they make. Bruce and Sherry are awesome people!!!! Thinking of a bed and breakfast close to Shippshewana I would go here.

Fantastic, relaxing, romantic, and excellent hosts and breakfast! We went to the fruit winery, cheese factory and chocolate shopps nearby! Breakfast was big enough that an afternoon snack would hold us off until dinner. We will definitely return!
