The Blue Chip Casino is beautiful at night as it towers over Michigan City, an otherwise nondescript town. This casino brings in mostly locals ~ smokers ~ people who need to make a fast buck. You will rarely find the high rollers here. If you come during the week, the place is dead! During the weekend, its a bit busier, but not much. My husband likes to play Caribbean Stud and there is only one table....mostly either dead or too crowded to get a seat on weekends. The steakhouse (never eaten there) is high, very high.....and from what I've read, the buffet is not good. We scored a free room ONCE but not since....the spa tower rooms are beautiful, but there is no pool and the spa is pricey. Cocktails on the floor are NOT free and cost $3.00 + tip and come in a tiny plastic cup. Shows are rare and few and far between, and, the entertainers are more or less no names (exception/Joan Rivers/2011). Dealers are friendly.
Would not make a special trip unless you get a low rate in a spa room or are visiting the outlet mall anyway. We like to eat at Rodini's on Franklin Street and then try our luck here. We usually find a better rate at the myriad of chain hotels off I-94.
