“Worth getting off the beaten path”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 9, 2014 via mobile

Visiting from out of town and tempted to find something to eat at a local franchise. Had noticed some interesting local shops in the downtown district and decided to look there first. Wow! Wonderful menu, quaint atmosphere, treated like an old friend, and seriously the best breakfast I have ever had...

“Nice little family restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 2, 2014 via mobile

Decided to try a local place instead of a chain. Upon recommendations from other travelers we tried this lovely main street restaurant. A charming downtown area is enhanced by The Mixing Bowl Restaurant and Bakery. We started with the deep fried pickle chips then had the mushroom and Swiss burger and the patty melt. The honey added fried jalapenos to his burger. Everything was hot, tasty and fresh. Prices were reasonable 7.99 for a burger and fries. They had vegetarian options, pasta, pizza, and breakfast all day. They also run daily specials. They also had pastries for dessert. Definitely worth getting off the highway for this gem.

“Finally, a burger worth writing about!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2014

Located in downtown Martinsville, Indiana, this is a gem. Four of us went in for a late lunch. We had jalapeño burger, American burger and fettuccini Alfredo with grilled chicken, soup and salad. The menu is very complete, portions/price ratio is excellent and the food, WOW! The burgers were the best I have ever had, and the french fries were golden brown and crunchy. I asked for my burger to be cooked medium rare, and it was cooked perfectly. The fettuccini Alfredo was very good too.

Breakfast is served all day long. I will be back to try the Reuben.

We were checking out downtown Martinsville and happened to notice The Mixing Bowl. We ordered hamburgers and were not disappointed. We will definitely go back!
