While passing through Martinsville, Indiana on July 20, 2013, my wife and I were looking for a good restaurant. I used to live in Martinsville and knew that nice (sit-down) restaurants were not easy to find there, although there have been a some new ones added in recent years. We went to see if the famous steakhouse (will not name here) was open for lunch on Saturday. They were not so we opted for a steakhouse we knew nothing about and lucky we did!
The Texas Corral (previously the Damon's building) near Wal-Mart was our choice partly due to fact that other restaurants close by were not quite right. We were greeted by friendly host and hostesses, directed to our booth, and served hot and delicious rolls immediately. An attentive waitress was there on the spot. We ordered fried cheese sticks as an appetizer. They came quickly and were hot and perfect inside and out. My wife ordered filet (medium) with deluxe potato and a tossed salad. Her steak was cooked to perfection and she gave me a taste. Wow!!! I didn't expect the most tender and tasty steak that I have had in a while, either in Martinsville or neighboring Bloomington, Indiana. I ordered a 10 ounce prime rib (medium) and it also was great!!! We both had tossed salads that were ,fresh, crisp a tasty. On rare occasion I will have a mixed drink as I did today. The long-island iced tea was excellent but potent so don't
drink on an empty stomach. We will be back!!!
