“A Unique Accommodation Filled with History and Warmth”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 2, 2012

My husband and I and our good friend stayed here for 4 nights in May, 2012. The purpose of our trip was to attend our friend's daughter's (our God-daughters) graduation from Purdue. When we arrived at 11:30 at night we did, we admit, have our doubts. The outside was a bit unkept and the empty swimming pool and abandoned old home next door seemed erie. The enclosed porch room we entered before entering the front door was filled with storage items and "this and that" which left the impression of "junk". But the actual front door was beautiful wood and glass and we could see into the lovely old home. George had waited up for us and from the minute he greeted us warmly our stay was wonderful. He and Lee are warm, welcoming, and very interesting Inn Keepers and their daughter, Leslie, is an excellent chef.

This property is from an elegant period of history, and filled with many fascinating items that are from Europe, the Southern US, and other parts of the country. If someone is overwhelmed by the amount, and eclectic style, it might not be appreciated, but if you take time to look at the various items, and ask George about them, you are in for an amazing history lesson. This property has been in the family for almost 180 years and there are many fascinating stories about the development of the area, the homes themselves, and the families that have lived in them.

Having travelled overseas, we are used to old buildings and rooms with old style furnishings. Our room (the Autumn Room) was very nice. If someone wants a Holiday Inn experience, this would not be the place to book, but if you want a nice clean room with a very comfortable bed, and furnishings that are each pieces of history, this is the place to choose!

The grounds are beautiful. They currently are in some need of attention due to issues of health and exceptionally hot weather, that have prevented the Innkeepers from their usual landscape maintenance. But there are wonderful places to sit by the pond or under trees and enjoy conversation, reading, and a cool drink.

We had three days of interesting sight seeing including walking the labyrinth and strolling along the river in Logansport. One day we went to Delphi and went on the canal boats and visited the very interesting Interpretive Center. We spent several hours walking the canal paths. We went to Americus and had a delicious catfish dinner at a local roadhouse type restaurant, Roberts. This restaurant has a colorful history of its own dating back to Prohibition.

Lee and George made this trip a learning experience as they shared stories that took us on a trip through time. They are warm, generous, and interesting people who did everything possible to make our stay special. Memories of our stay at Inntiquity will be with us for a long time as we remember our special graduation weekend in Indiana. Thank you, George and Lee.

This is the 2nd time we have been to the Inn the 1st being our honeymoon and this time our anniversary. My husband & I both had a great time each time. We got to go horseback riding, they packed us a picnic by the waterfalls, and candlelight dinner that was wonderful. They also have a couple ponds to fish if you like outdoor stuff. We will def. be going back.

Room Tip: if you have 4 people in your party or a child the handicap room downstairs has a queen bed and a ful...

We stayed that the B & B for a family funeral. We were only scheduled to stay two nights but then needed to stay another two. George and Lee were amazing. They welcomed us and made us feel very at home. We stayed in the peacock room and it was wonderful, the bed was very comfortable and just what we needed. Breakfast was amazing and we felt like royalty. We really enjoyed all the antiques and special touches. We will stay here again.

My husband and I needed a relaxing getaway, but still wanted to stay close to home. After many hours of web surfing, trying to find just the right place, we came across the inntiquity website, which was easy to navigate, detailed, and equipped with the capability to make online reservations. We booked the romantic retreat special and enjoyed a candlelit dinner prepared by the house chef, probably the best meal of my life, a nice clean room with a comfy bed, and a gourmet breakfast the following morning. Check out was at noon, so after breakfast, we still had a couple of hours to go back to our room and relax before leaving. The owners were friendly and accommodating. The inn was beautifully decorated with antiques and embellished with gorgeous woodwork. It was very quiet and relaxing. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and have already began discussing coming back in June for our anniversary, so we can enjoy the pond, gazebo, and garden located on the grounds. I would suggest that couples spend a little extra for the bigger room with a 2 person jacuzzi. That is the only thing we would of done differently. You will enjoy your stay.

Upon arrival we were a little concerned. The outside of the Inn could use a little care. HOWEVER; it was winter time and the landscape is always a little iffy here in Indiana during the winter. As soon as we walked through the front door our opinion changed. We were welcomed and shown to our beautiful room. We then had a massage and enjoyed a DELICIOUS dinner. The dining room was beautifully decorated and so relaxing and welcoming. The entire Inn was filled with wonderful antiques and you are encouraged to explore the building. Knowing that George and Leslie built this beautiful place from the ground up made it even more appealing. We will definitely be back!!!

Room Tip: The Greek Room was beautifully decorated and definitely one of the nicest in the inn.

The Inntiquity Inn is an Indiana treasure - a true country inn. On past visits, George has given us plants from his gardens, which grow lushly because of the dairy farm that once was in the same area.

There's no better place to stay than with friendly people who are kind and comfortable to be with. We have stayed at the Inntiquity Inn so many times it now feels much like home, and we love it, especially the innkeepers themselves. My husband is now ill and having a difficult time with memory. Lee and George take it right in stride and treat him just as they always have, like a good friend. On this most recent visit, my mother passed away, and our stay was prolonged beyond our original reservation. No problem for the Naftzgers; they even turned up at the funeral service. We ate at the Inn several nights, too. Leslie, the Naftzgers' daughter, is a great chef and hostess, too.
