“Nice, clean, conveinent for skiiers and gambling”

Took the weekend to go skiing at Perfect North Slopes and stayed at Holiday Inn Express in Lawrenceburg. Room was very comfortable, clean and very quiet, maid service was very prompt. Took the kids to the indoor pool which was nice especially when it was so cold outside. The continental breakfast was plentiful since there really isn't any resturants by except for Burger King. Argosy casino is just located down the street along with the quaint town of Lawrenceburg. We picked this hotel for conveinece and it had packages for lift tickets for skiing. We will definitely stay here again when we come back to ski next year.

“a bit beaten and battered”

This hotel is a bit battered although you might not do better in this town. I guess it has to do with the rough clientele. It is located directly on the off site employee parking lot for the Argosy Casino. Also located next to a busy highway the main drag through Lawrenceburg. A Burger King is also located next door. So it is a busy area. Don’t think you are getting a peaceful stay. It is a busy place. Most folks are either overflow from the Casino or avoiding it for another reason or other.

Lawrenceburg is an interesting place but I have never been to a casino town that was quaint. There is a large Seagram plant in town that puts out an odd odor. This river town is trying hard with a big river walk next to the casino. But it doesn’t quite get there.

This is the closest hotel to Perfect North Slopes so if you are spending the weekend there this place might be find. Just stay at the ski area till closing.

It is not bad but there is not much choice in this town.

The Holiday inn in Lawrenceburg was great.
Me and my boyfriend stayed in the Jacuzzi room for 2 nights 2 years ago for a special valentine’s vacation! (We are now married)
The hotel was very clean and fresh. The staff was very friendly. The room was very large which accommodated the huge Jacuzzi with plenty of leg room to spare.

They have a nice pool but I think it’s to open and close to the lobby...they probably do this on purpose to watch for trouble I guess.
Also have free continental breakfast but I do not remember how it was.

Recommended in the area:
It is a 2 minute drive from the Argosy Casino - this casino has free admission and parking. Also a restaurant.
But I HIGHLY recommend you eat out at Whiskey’s Restaurant if you are in the area, right down the street and get the ribs. It’s a really nice place, great place for dates or anyone, the food is about the price if what you would pay at Red Lobster but 10 times better/fresher!
