“Great Mexican Bakery!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 27, 2011

Yummy fresh Mexican pastry! The ladies that work here are very polite. The churros are delicious and the "conchas" are great for breakfast with coffee. :)

“Awesome, Clean, and Bright Mexican Bakery”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2008

Whenever we visit Lafayette, Indiana, we have to grab a sack of bread from Mama Rosa's Mexican Bakery. The bread (more pastry-like by American definition) is always fresh and they have an amazing variety. My husband (who's father is full Mexican) loves their puerquitos, or little pigs. It is a subtle gingerbread cookie cut into the shape of a pig. Not to miss are their HUGE churros. It would be worth some research online to learn about the various varieties prior to going so as not to get overwhelmed. (Also, you could be surprised by the "egg bread" which isn't sweet except for the topping of crusted sugar.) There is a sound variety of turnovers and danishes as well. The only drawback is the items aren't priced. Once you see an entire tray ring up for under $5, though, that is quickly forgotten. Bring cash unless you plan to make a large purchase, as there is a $10 minimum for credit.

Pick us up a sack of puerquitos if you go!
