As usual, there are 2 reviews and both go to the extreme. Here's how it really is on a Saturday night.
It's packed. We waited about 10 minutes to get a table after we paid. Not too bad really, all things considered. There are a whole lot of kids at this place. they can eat for $3.99 (8 year olds) and that is a bargin. You have to weave through the crowd around the buffet to get to your seat. I'm understanding, so waiting isn't a big deal. The people around me were not so nice about it... which in turn seemed to cause the staff that was trying to seat people to get a little... testy. Not very professional. The worse seemed to be the older people that work there.
The waitress that we had (I wish I could remember her name) was a very nice young lady that didn't rush to take our lates until we pushed them out of the way and was on the ball with refills. She was excellent.
The food is decent buffet food. For $10, It's better than what you are paying for. I ate mainly seafood. I liked it all. I also had a little Oriental food. Again, pretty good. The salad bar was very good as well. I didn't wait around for steak, but the guy at the next table got one and it looked pretty good.
My daughter had a piece of pizza, which she liked, and then pickles, a bunch of fruit, a salad and a couple chicken nugget like things. She ate it all. That's a good sign.
The dessert area is kind of a nightmare on the weekend. The chocolate fountain is a real mess. The strawberries were constantly out (yeah, people would take like 5-6 at a time) so if you wanted to use it, you would have to get a mashmellow. I had to take my daughter up there, since that's one of the big draws for her. I had some sorbet, which was good. and I got us a few assorted brownies and rice crispy treats. I interacted with a couple of the employees at the buffet and again, not so friendly. Say "Thank you" and you will get no response. The older lady that scoped my sorbet looked really annoyed with me for having to do so. Sorry!
There you have it. Avoid the weekend nights, expect a good waitress and bad everyone else that works there. The food is better than what you are paying, so it's easy to deal with. 4* food and 2* staff in a 3* (weekend) setting with a 5* price.
