“Very nice property, despite the construction”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 2, 2014

Construction around this property is really frustrating. Hopefully it won't last too much longer because trying to get off and on the interstate got really old. The good news though, there are several restaurants within walking distance, so once we got back to the hotel the car stayed parked.

The staff is friendly and the property could use a little updating but it is still quite nice. The beds were comfortable and the room was pleasant and spacious. One strange thing, we were staying for a couple of days but in our King room there weren't any drawers to unpack our clothes to, so we had to live out of our suitcase. Could be a hassle if staying more that one or two nights.

We stayed on the club floor. It is one of the higher floors so even though we didn't upgrade to a river view their was still a partial view from our room. Hors d'oeuvres are served in the club room in the evening and breakfast in the morning. I was hoping the hors d'oeuvres would be something like the appetizers served in the restaurant but the selection wasn't anything exciting. They had little hot dogs wrapped in pastry, tiny slivers of cheese, and some really basic fruit (melons as I recall). I think their were a couple of other items but even though I was hungry it was easy to pass. Breakfast was very basic as well, a fraction of the usual basic hotel breakfast but sightly more than the promised continental breakfast. We did eat some scrambled eggs and toast but that was about it.

Overall this is a nice hotel with a good location and we had a pleasant stay here. If we stay in the area again we will definitely stay here but I'm not sure that I will pay extra to stay on the Club Floor again. If you are willing to pay extra for a nice view and a quick bite of breakfast then it might be worth it, otherwise I'd have to recommend trying one of the "traditional" rooms.

Thank you for staying with our property and for sharing your experience online. The hotel is ready for the bridge construction to be complete. We have been told that the work will conclude within the next week.

We do change the offerings in the Club Lounge daily, but the breakfast offering is pretty consistent. Recently we added a juicer so guests can squeeze fresh OJ in the morning. What item do you think would work in the Club? Email me at pgregory@sheratonlouisville.com and I will try it out.

All the best!
Patrick

Advantages: Located right on the Ohio River across from Louisville. 20 minutes from the airport. 5 minutes from the bridges into the city. Makes it super convenient if you are trying to visit Louisville OR if you are looking for a beautiful view/location for your stay in Jeffersonville.

Also has free Internet access and free lobby printing -- something that a lot of hotels don't have -- and really comfortable beds.

Disadvantages: The carpet in my room was FILTHY. Like I didn't want to step on it with bare feet filthy. Might be a result of the "dog friendly" rule the hotel has. There are also no refrigerators in the room AND no ice machines on every floor. I was constantly going to the floor below mine with an ice bucket during my stay. That's ludicrous.

I wouldn't say this is top of the line Sheraton property, but the rate was good and the location was even better.

Room Tip: Ask for a river view room. It's really quite a nice view.

Thank you for staying with us in Jeffersonville. We appreciate your business and your feedback.

The hotel is undergoing updating currently. We just completed a tile flooring project in our lobby and the next area we are moving onto is carpet. We are addressing the lobby areas first then moving into the guestroom. Until we have the carpets changed we are cleaning them about every 30 days. It is a focus point for us.

I selected this hotel because they are dog-friendly. The hotel is in a central location close to the river, shops, and restaurants. The lobby and other common ares of the hotel have been renovated nicely, but the rooms are in need of some attention.

Room: The carpet was ripped and had an old smell. It was okay after I used half a bottle of Febreze. The room was spacious and I had a great view of the river.

Room Tip: Please ask for a room away from the staff elevator

We were not impressed. There were only 2 elvetors serving this large hotel, so the wait to get to our room often took a longer than desired. We were on the 5th floor so stairs were not a good option. These were the smallest elevators I have ever seen. 2-3 people capcity max. The room had signs to water damage. The bed was lumpy. We will definilty be trying a different hotel in this area next time we visit.

Thank you for sharing your experience. We need honest feedback like yours to improve. We do have small elevators but I will share that with my owner.

Awesome hotel! All the staff are friendly and efficient. Hotel is beautiful. Great location to louisville and beautiful views. We stayed to watch fireworks and celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary and were really pleased. Club floor offered many perks such as afternoon cocktails and lounge. Room was huge with comfy bed and excellent river views. Love all the extras such as shower gel and pouf and shave cream. My only complaints would be that the elevators were tiny for a hotel and the pool was very small. Never got in the pool, just looked in at it! I will be staying here again when staying in the area.

Room Tip: Pay extra for the club floor. Worth the ten bucks or so for the perks!

I've just returned from a family reunion that was hosted at the Sheraton. We used the ball room for a banquet where the hotel provided the food and the nice staff. We were allowed to use the hospitality room ever night as a game room. They provided our family with a private breakfast area so we could be together. We didn't run into a rude staff member during our stay.

Our only problem there was a gnat issue. After 30 minutes of being in our room, we'd killed 4 gnats! (Room 920..great view). So, they moved us to another room, Room 522. Not as many gnats, but still a few. Other than the gnat issue in the hotel, it was was well kept and comfortable.

I did like how this hotel was less than 5 minutes away from downtown Louisville and close to attractions like; 4th Street, the Muhammad Ali Center and the Louisville Slugger Museum. On another note, if your room is at the end of the hall (when you take a right of the elevator) there is another, BIGGER elevator you can use at the end of the hall to the left. Press 1R for the lobby. ;)

Room Tip: The rooms facing the back of the building have a view of the Ohio river.

This large hotel is near all the riverbank attractions of Louisville KY and Jeffersonville IN. It is reasonably priced and kept up. However: rooms advertised as river-view are NOT. Don't get anything below the third floor if you want a view.
