“Great food; a little pricey for lunch”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 9, 2012

We were travelting from KY to St. Louis for Fall Break (with our 2 teenage sons). Had a great experience. Our food was delicious!! Only minor complaint was the lunch entrees were ~ $15-22 range. Myself & our sons ordered sandwiches w/ 1 side and they were reasonabl (~ $10) but my husband ordered the pork tenderloin entree (based on waitress recommendation). It was DELICIOUS but it was $20. Of course, he knew that when ordered. With that was the tenderloin (best I've ever tasted!), 2 sides and side salad. We did order 1 piece of peanut butter pie to split. The pie was $3 (and delicious!). The pies were very reasonably priced. Out bill w/ drinks and tip was $72. Just a bit steep for lunch. (Again, $20 of that was my spouse's order. However, on our trip to St. Louis, this was the most expensive lunch or dinner that we had.)

“Great German food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 5, 2012

My sister and I recently took a mini-road trip in southern Indiana and stopped at the Schnitzelbank for lunch. We dined on the salad bar and a lunch menu item. The salad bar is excellent. It is the only place I know of, except for my mother's table when she was alive, to get shredded turnips fixed like sauerkraut. The chicken strips were good as was my sister's chicken Ceasar salad wrap. Homemade breads, butter, and apple butter are also available on the salad bar as is the soup-of-the-day.

The restaurant also has a small gift shop filled with German-style gifts, Christmas decorations, and food items.

“Amazing Food, Excellent Service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 27, 2012

Love the food, love the people! The have great fried chicken and a huge fresh salad bar. Also great German cuisine choices. The waitresses are dressed in German attire. All of our orders were quick and correct. That is a big job with all the special requests we have accomodating small children and picky eaters.

“Best German Food in Kentuckiana!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2012

If you live German food, you have to dine here. We have gradually worked our way through the menu and everything has been great! If you want to eat lighter fare, the salad bar has a wide variety of dishes. The service is always friendly and timely. We eat here everytime we're in the area.
