“Quality Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 17, 2010

Location is immediately off 465, in fact you can see it from the bottom of the exit. Staff was quick and kind. Checked room before bringing the bags in, clean behind the dresser, clean under the bed, sheets were clean, bathroom was clean, checked mattress for signs of bedbugs and it was so clean it looked new. Hotel was quiet overall. Only heard two planes go overhead. Breakfast was a nice sampling of bakery, waffles, fruit, etc. Internet access in the room was good. Only thing I didn't like about the hotel was the workout room was extremely small.

First off, I must admit that I stayed here by purchasing the room with a discount bidder. For the price I paid, it was well worth it. However, the advertised price that you would pay on the Marriott might not be a bargain for this older property in a limited part of town. There are older homes on one side of the hotel directly behind the parking and a closed Schlotzsky's deli on the another.

If you are looking to dine out nearby, your options in the immediate area are a small, unimpressive selection of places like the Waffle House and Denny's . However, downtown is just a 12-minute drive away. You do get free wifi, free parking, free breakfast and a free airport shuttle at this hotel.

The breakfast was well appointed from healthy cooked oatmeal to yogurt, a waffle maker, fresh fruit, English muffins, toast and more. (Jimmy Dean sandwiches are also available.)

The room was clean with a comfortable bed. The air conditioner had an odd smell but everything from the bedspread to the curtains appeared fresh. The small pool was clean but showed some signs of cosmetic wear. The staff had standard bath towels laid out at the pool for use after a swim.

All the staff were friendly and helpful. Good tasting coffee was kept out, along with fresh fruit, which was a welcomed touch since more eclectic dinner dining was a distance away.

This Fairfield Inn was fairly typical for the chain. The room was rather small but very clean. The bed was comfortable with quality bedding. The bathroom was clean with a great showerhead and water pressure. The towels provided were small and should have had a grit rating on them. Washcloths, handtowels and bath towels were in general thin and probably should be replaced.

The free high speed internet was just that, fast and free.

Marriott Properties have consistently satisfied me with their quality and this stay was no exception. I like this Fairfield Inn in Indianapolis particularly because the room windows open and I didn't have to run the fan at all. This early November evening was nice. Despite being so close to the airport and highway, it seemed peacefully quiet with the window open all night. The complimentary breakfast was okay and I'm getting a little tired of it. The Jimmy Dean egg sausage cheese biscuit sandwiches are kind of salty and becomes an old routine after a while. I'm also not a big fan of the pillows that Fairfield Inn provides. They're a bit thick for my tastes. The hotel layout is okay--elevator in the middle and stairs at the ends. It's too bad there's no stairs in the middle in case the elevator gets busy.

  • Liked — Windows open. Clean and comfortable room.
  • Disliked — Seemed pricier than I expected. Pillows are too thick.

I spent a night at this Fairfield, which is conveniently located near the airport. Check in went quickly and the front desk personal was very pleasant. I was upgraded to one of the suites that were available. The room and bathroom were very clean. The suite included a lounge area with a refrigerator, couch and TV while the sleeping area had a very comfortable bed and another TV. The bathroom had the normal amenities of soap and shampoo along with a coffee maker with 2 packets of regular and decaf coffee. Breakfast was included with the rate, which included bagels, fresh fruit, yogurt, muffins, coffee and juices. I would stay here again if in the area.

Stayed here in late Dec 2007, Upon arrival, the staff was very helpful.
The room was very clean, free WIFI, good work desk, and had a comfortable bed, My only complaint was that there was no fridge or microwave in room.
My only other complaint was that the pool was a bit cold to swim in. The clerk said that the heater moter must be broken. Also, no hot tub in pool area,
A very big plus for them was that let me have a late check out, 2 pm, so I did not have to sit at the airport for several hours.
If I have to stay near the Indy airport again, I will stay here.
