“Always a good stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 16, 2010

I often have to travel to Indy for work and always try to stay at the Keystone Hyatt. Very good location near many shops and restaurants. Staff is always helpful and rooms are very nice and clean. Fridge and microwave in the room as well. Been there 4-5 times now and never had a bad experience.

This is my first experience with a Hyatt Place hotel. While they have a unique and inviting theme with these hotels, we were disappointed with this property. The hotel is literally 10 feet from I-465, be sure to request a room on the south side to avoid all the traffic noise. It is also very difficult to find. Being so close to I-465, you would think it very easy, but you have to exit off I-465, then take another exit off Keystone avenue, and then turn into a business park. The hotel sits at the very back of the park behind an office building and is not visible from the intersection nor are there any signs to point the way. The hotel also has horrible front desk service. The guests in front of us at check in requested to pay one night in cash, another on a credit card. This took the attention of both front desk employees and a couple of phone calls before they could figure it out. c Check in time -10 minutes. There was absolutely nobody around the next morning during checkout and it wasn't like it was an unpopular time to check out, it was 7:45am. After waiting forever and multiple unsuccessful attempts at using the express check out kiosks, I finally grabbed some poor guy pushing a mop and asked that he go find someone that could check us out. Asking for a copy of my receipt caused more problems, the clerk had to run to some back office to print a copy. Check out time - 20 minutes. The "High Energy" breakfast was also pretty disappointing. It consisted of toast or bagels, yogurt, and a fruit salad.

The room itself was very nice, minus a few issues with the shower. As I mentioned above, this is a unique concept. They have moved the bathroom from the traditional front corner of the room over to the back wall, creating a large living space with a sectional couch, ottoman, sink, mini fridge, and work desk. This area is separated from the sleeping area by a short partition, giving the appearance of a two room suite. The 42 inch flat screen TV is mounted on the wall in the center of the room, allowing you to watch from either side. It also had a panel that allowed you to hook up any number of different devices, dvd player, etc.

The staff were great and I would stay at this and any other hyatt any time!

this is the place where i came to read the review prior we booked the reservation, now the travel is competed, I would like to come back and share my experience. I will NOT be staying in this hotel again, poor customer is never okay, and these company do not deserve business from consumers.
We booked the hotel using the airline mileage and upon check in, we were assure everything is paid, on check out, they even told us there is no receipt due to fact we deserved the room online. So a day later, my credit card was charge the whole price, not one but twice, closer to 500 dollars.
I phoned the hotel staff and was transferred to the general manager, who initially was helpful. a week later, one charge was gone, but the other charge is official. This time I was not so lucky, I cannot get a reply from this general manager, their staff had to run around to check on my charge and even suggested I called the Hyatt Place customer relation at 800 numbers. What a waste of time, this is the company who does NOT put customer first and finding all kinds of excuses to cover their errors. Not once, was someone sincere enough to say " we are sorry this happens."
I have to say, the room was clean and to the good standard, but this poor customer service is inexcusable. Now I have to pay for this charge upon due day and wait for Hyatt to suppose "credit" my charge. Please do yourself a favor, save some headache and stay else where.

Was in Indy for business trip and wanted hotel away from airport. Room and desk service were great. But don't get a room on the north side of the hotel... its up against Hwy I-465... noise all night!

If they put you in a room on the north side... change rooms or find another hotel!

We arrived on a red eye flight to Indianapolis at 8:30am. Airport pick-up. Called the hotel to let them know we had arrived at the airport - they sent the driver back around to get us. As we entered the hotel the driver went behind the desk (everyone on the staff muli - tasks) to check on an early check in for us. He let us know that breakfast was being served (danish, cereal, oatmeal, fruit) and to please help ourselves while he was completing a task for another customer and would check on our room. He let us know that the room was ready. The room (nice dcor) is divided into two sections living and sleeping. The living side had a nice pull out couch including a nice blanket and pillows, desk and sink and refrig. with coffee maker. The bedroom side had two beds very nice linens, blankets, pillows and the bathroom. The closet was small but deep to one side. A flat screen Tv is centered between the 2 areas.
They have a small cooked to order menu (great hamburger) wine and beer.I would not call it a restaurant. Bar seating and tables. There are two computers for your use. They have transportion to a local mall that you need to sign up for. We were running late with dinner and they came a little later to pick us up.
Everyone on staff was there to help. Not once did we ever hear that's not my job or department. Awesome customer service.
