My husband and I spent four years living in Italy, so we have high expectations when we go out to eat italian food. We read in the local paper that Lorenzanos was supposed to be very good, so we went there last night. It took 30 minutes for our salads to arrive and they consisted of only iceberg lettuce, a few croutons and a little cheese on top. They were served with the typical american dressing, such as ranch or blue cheese. Italians typically eat a mixed green blend and have olive oil and vinegar added on the side, so this salad was not a typical italian salad. The main course was drowning in sauce and my lasagna had two meatballs added to it, which reminded of something like "Fazolis". My husband had the fettucini alfredo and the pasta was drowning in way too much sauce. The sauce tasted like mostly heavy cream and it was so rich, you could barely eat it. The shrimps were salad shrimps (the smallest size), even though his meal cost $13.
