“Great place to stay in Downtown Indy with a group”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2010

I stayed here for a wedding in Fishers with a group of friends that had never been to Indianapolis prior to this wedding. I suggested we stay downtown and not in Fishers (nothing against Fishers) since there is more to do within walking distance (i.e. no need to worry about designated drivers the night before the wedding).

We didn't arrive until 12:40 a.m. and the man working the front desk was very efficient in getting me my keys, etc. for my room. I had already checked-in via the phone since I was originally schedule to arrive eight hours earlier but did not because of a canceled flight from Detroit. So everything was already to go for us to stay on the 16th floor.

The room was very nice and the living room and bedroom each have ~32" LCD televisions that do in fact feature HD channels (not just the over-the-air variety (ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX), but your cable channels such as ESPN. This sure helped me from having to find a bar that carried HD channels to watch the FIFA World Cup. Not that its a huge problem to find ABC in HD, but it was nice to have to watch USA/England while getting ready for the wedding. I'm kind of an HD snob...

The beds were comfortable and one of my friends insisted on passing out on the couch and claimed it was comfortable (I tried to explain that it does fold out into a bed, he said he was content with the traditional couch-passout method).

There is a sink in the bedroom in addition to the sink in the bathroom. The living room features an empty mini-fridge with another sink.

The rooms block the sound from the atrium well. You couldn't hear anything from the outside or our neighbors. And hopefully they couldn't hear us while watching the World Cup.

The one problem I had with the room was the condition of the bathroom. The sink area was fine, but the tub looked like it was possibly under repair or soon to be under repair. I would disagree with previous reviews of the rooms (as a whole) looking tired because the rest of the room looked like it had recently been renovated... except for the tub/shower area.

The exercise room looked nice, but it was small. The business center is free to use (and free printers) and there is a pool as well. You need your room key to access all three. The lobby area is nice and the doorman is more than happy to store your bags for you if need be. The person working the front desk on my last night at 3:30 a.m., was nice to extend check-out for me until 1 p.m.

We used our Hilton points to stay here for the Indy 500. So the value was great because it was free!! I loved the location. We could walk to dinner every night and to the parade. It was connected to a mall via a sky walk. The Weber Grille and Panera Bread were in the basement. There was also a horse betting bar in the basement. My husband insisted on betting every night before bed. It was very entertaining.

The concierge was great. He had answers for all of our questions and always had a taxi waiting for us. There was a free happy hour everyday...even on the weekends. That was nice.

I never tried the free breakfast. I opted for Panera bagels instead. But it looked like everyone else enjoyed breakfast.

The hotel was nice but nothing too fancy. It could use some updating. But it was not bad at all. The bed was comfy and they were quick to deliver extra pillows when we called. The elevator was super slow. So we had to plan an extra 5 -10 minutes to get to the lobby from the 14th floor.

I would certainly stay here again. The service was really good, and the amenities were wonderful. They had an amazing gym, with a pool/tub area that was clean and nice. Every morning the hotel opens a large dining hall for breakfast. They have everything there including a cooked to order egg station, which is outstanding! And, to top it all off, it is attached to a shopping mall, which is then attached to several other places, like restaurants. This came in extremely handy considering the weather was a bit touch and go. The lobby was nice, too. The only negative is that the rooms were a little bit tired. That's the only negative! Stay here!

I decided to give this Embassy Suites another chance after a few disappointing stays over the last 3 years. The set up of this place just annoys me. It's difficult to get into off the street. I dislike the parking situation. They do not have a valet so you have to park your own car, take a set of elevators down and then an escalator up to check in. Once checked it you take another elevator to the room. The staff is friendly but it doesn't compensate for the odd set up of this building. I think it's an architectural nightmare. The rooms have been updated slightly with some new fixtures and mirrors in the bathroom. My bathtub had a nice crack in it. The bed was ok. I stayed the previous night at the Hilton Garden Inn on the northwest side of the city which had an amazing bed which probably clouded my judgment.

This hotel is excellent to stay in while on business in Indianapolis. The location is perfect, its connected to a major downtown mall. And its right above an off-track betting site for all those gamblers out there. The pools great, the spa is great, and the hotel staff is very very helpful. Rooms are very clean and the mattresses are perfect. Will stay again !

I was in Indianapolis for the first time and the services at the Embassy Suites made my stay more pleasant. They had computers available with printing services for those who couldn't bring a laptop. Internet connection was included at no charge. Complete breakfast included with cook-to-order omeletts among cereal (hot and cold), bread, fruit, yogourt, pancakes, bacon, sausage and more. happy hour from 5:30 to 7:30 with complimentary drinks including wines and other alcoholic beverages. The room service maintained the room clean and prepared with a selection of coffe and tea. Also the rooms have a microwave oven and a small refrigerator. On top of all, serurity boxes available at front desk at no cost. I had to study a lot for my workshop and the facilities provided at the hotel were perfect. Located in the heart of downtown, walking distance to many attractions and in the heat of the city. Clean room and huge suites.
Great service with excellent rates.
Thanks

Just finish a weeks stay and was very pleased with the accomendations , location and the over all friendliness of the staff . The free breakfast , evening reception and central location was A1 . While my wife attended her convention sessions ( about 3 blks ) my grand daughter (11 ) and i were able to walk to most of the attractions in the city . While i totally enjoyed the city the Embassy only put the cherry on top . The one draw back as is for many hotels was that there was a charge for internet connection. Prior to our stay i read mixed reviews but didn't experienced any of the negative statements. All in all we would be thrilled to stay again.
