While attending the NBMBAA conference, I stayed at Embassy Suites Indianapolis, downtown. It's a nice hotel - clean, updated room, new carpet, restaurant, comfortable bed, and of course hot comp breakfast. As others have said, it does require some PI work to find the entrance. You can enter by the mall or off the street by walking up some dimly lit stairs. Not the smartest design to get in at all.

Jeff the bartender provided superb customer service after I had a poor experience with a dish I ordered from the restaurant.

You can get to the convention center through the skywalk, but beware it takes a long time. It's a nice alternative when it's raining, but it's a very long winding road to get there and signage is not the best. Remember to look up as you're walking, way up.

Overall, this is a good location for shopping and general site seeing. If your main business is at the convention center or Lucas Oil Stadium, you might want to stay at a hotel closer to that venue at comparable rates.

I have been to many Embassy Suites around the Country and this one was just fine. It is centrally located to downtown Indy with lots of dining choices. It is only a 3 block walk to the convention center. All the rooms face an 18 story atrium, but also have windows facing outside. The rooms have been recently updated and are comfortable enough for a long stay. The breakfast is typical Embassy Suites style which is very filling. However, the evening receptions at this hotel lack the variety of snacks other Embassy Suites provide. Every night including only potato chips and veggies. The bartender was the best I've met so far-please remember to tip!

This hotel was the host hotel for our family reunion this year. There are some pros and cons to this hotel. The hotel has a wonderful location and is in walking distance to FANTASTIC restaurants, clubs and bars, stadium and is connected to mall. It was clean and as the host hotel handled our lot of 250+ family members like pros. The breakfast was nice and as expected with Embassy Suites. The cons were parking can be frustrating. My family and I traveled in a Mid-size SUV and to get in the parking deck was a bit cramped however, after getting in was smooth sailing. The outside valet were a bit overwhelmed with parking and seemed a bit new to this. The front desk staff was just okay and not very friendly. However, all other staff was VERY nice, personable and even gave tips on where to go and what to do. The rooms were very clean, about average in decor and appearance. Overall, we had a very good trip and if I were to go back I would look into staying there again.
