“Best Price for Downtown”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 25, 2014

Yes, this is an older hotel, but it's within two blocks of downtown and offers free parking and free WiFi. The hotel is ten minutes from the Children's Museum. Very convenient. Great value for the price. The rooms were comfortable and the bathroom was clean.

This hotel is perfect for those who are willing to sacrifice ultra comfy, super clean, dead quiet, and perfect location to save some dollars. It's not uncomfortable or unclean, it's not super loud (most of the time), and it's not far from downtown. It's also only a few blocks from Banker's Life Fieldhouse (Conseco). However, the city's helicopter pad is next door and I was frequently awoken by landing helicopters each of my two nights there. The walls were also noticeably thin. The breakfast buffet was probably a step below your average continental breakfast. But I don't care too much about those things, and the value was excellent. Just be warned, it's not the W Hotel.

There are probably worse places to stay. Downtown Fallujah comes to mind… However, if you are looking to come to Indianapolis and you only have enough money to stay at the La Quinta Inn, I would suggest cancelling your trip and saving more money until you can afford something (anything) nicer.

Of course, there are some good things about this hotel. This place is close to the downtown area and easily within walking distance. The front desk staff is friendly. There is free parking (the outside lot is right next door to some tenement housing. So nice. Bring the kids!). I must admit that the bedding was clean, as were the towels.

There is free wi-fi and a free breakfast every morning. But I’d give all that up to stay in a room that didn’t have a moldy/musty stench. The room reeked. Also, the room’s interior, while certainly nice back in ’84, desperately needs an update. The carpet was worn and dirty. The drywall was broken away above the baseboard exposing a good one-inch gap to the inside of the wall. In the bathroom, the door frame had begun to rot away by the floor. Instead of fixing it, they cut away the rot and just repainted. Me thinks this isn’t how it’s supposed to be done. The tv, while a flat-screen, had a pixilated bar that ran vertically through the screen. Slightly annoying. The windows had single-pane glass. There’s really nothing like hearing the conversations of people walking past on the sidewalk below (while my windows were closed. I was on the second floor). The closet is fairly narrow, so much so that shirts have to be kept at an angle as they won’t fit with the closet door closed.

And because it was sold out due to a couple events in town for the weekend, they had nothing else to offer. I hate to nit-pick, but this was easily one of the bottom three hotels that I’ve had the misfortune of ever staying.

What a great value! My room was great and the staff was even better. There was free parking, free WiFi and a delicious breakfast available. The Front Desk Manager, who checked us in, was so friendly, extremely efficient and happy to help us find our way in downtown Indy. This is my new go-to place when staying in Indianapolis.

This hotel provides the best value in downtown Indianapolis. It provides free internet, parking, and breakfast. The staff was friendly, and the rooms were private. I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone who does not want to spend a fortune staying downtown.

I had trouble regulating the room temperature, thought my room needed some maintenance, great location though, and free parking was a plus! It seemed as though it had some water damage. The elevator was very small, and old style. There was no pool either. Although I heard it was very Pet friendly which was a plus. I talked to a few pet owners while I was there.
