This B&B Inn is outstanding- I cant recommend it enough! The rooms are huge and elegantly decorated (no frilly lace and florals), the food is outstanding and the staff is friendly and attentive.
Rooms: I have stayed at B&B's around the world and would rate this easily in the top 10. We stayed in the Emerald Suite, which was perfect for my father and I: the suite is L-shaped with the large bathroom sitting between the main bedroom and the sitting room with comforable pull-out bed. Lots of privacy. The other rooms were open at various times during our stay so I peeked in all of them and each is wonderful. The original master suite (Wedgewood Suite) is unbelievablly romantic - you'll feel like royalty using the humongeous walnut and marble-encrusted bathroom.
Service: The proprietor, Betty went out of her way to spend time chatting, making us feel welcome and offering her expertise to make our stay in Indy enjoyable. She clearly trained her staff well as every one adeptly made sure we were well taken care of.
Food: We had the pleasure of enjoying three breakfasts here. All were wonderful. Being from Chicago has spoiled my tastebuds and I wasn't expecting much from the advertised "continental", so I was pleasantly surprised at the hearty and tasty fare. Each meal had fresh fruit and freshly prepared gourmet-level dish. We had eggs benedict with grilled asparagus, biscuits and gravy with cream-scrambled eggs, and egg souffle with cream cheese stuffed baked tomatoes. I couldn't pick a favorite, they were all so yummy.
Ambiance: This place has tons of common space to enjoy- lots of fireplaces, comfy chairs, gardens, a rooftop deck with hottub and skyline view. You really feel like you're staying as a houseguest in a turn of the century mansion. Betty has a wonderful eye for choosing antiques and decorating with understated elegance. You should feel at home as a business traveler, tourist, family or romantic couple.
Location: Urban setting, 1.4 miles north of city center, set on street of similar old mansions. We felt safe walking down town from the inn. Easy access to interstate and RCA Dome, Capitol, restaurants, clubs, etc.
