“excellent ribeye-avoid the basement”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 18, 2010

i go to St Elmos twice a year for a convention. The service is always top notch and the shrimp cocktail quite memorable. The only negative -don't stuck eating in the basement. Insist on a table on the main level. I travel to many steakhouses and this is one of the best. Dont be scared of the navy bean soup it is excellent. The cowboy ribeye is my personal favorite.

“One word. Awesome.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2010

Was in Indy for business and when you are in the city you really need to make at least one trip to St. Elmo . The steak is fantastic, but the real star of the place is the shrimp cocktail. Never mind the $15 price.

“Go on Sunday!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 19, 2010

St Elmos is one of my favorite stops in Indy, great food, service is nice. it is pricey for sure however if you go on sundays you can request the "specials menu", this gets you the shrimp, steak, and dessert for 30/person..that makes 3 course dinner for two with tip about 80..not too bad

“uneven”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 2, 2010

Visited twice. Tough shrimp cocktail, tough steak. Ruth Cris's better.
A tux on a waiter didn't make the food any better. Really disappointed, as this restaurant is very well respected in Indianapolis. Also, not fun. Old and stodgy.
