My partner and I flew to Indianapolis for a Colts game. Then, we had the fortune of staying after to have dinner at St. Elmo's. This restaurant is a mainstay of Indianapolis food lovers since before I was born.
We had a fantastic time at this old fashioned eatery with the style and atmosphere you would expect to find in a movie from the '60s.
I loved the entire experience. Here is what I liked:
First, The look of the wood paneling, white table cloths, black tie service was total elegance
Second, the shrimp cocktail was a fire in my mouth for flavor and spice
Third, My bone-in steak was prepared to perfection
Fourth, The tomato mozzarella salad was flavorful, colorful, and perfect.
Fifth, the cheesecake made me happy.
Service was a little slow, but the restaurant was very busy after the game. We were lucky we had reservations.
If you stay downtown it is a short walk from everything.
