The restaurant known as Yats in Bloomington, IN has changed it's name to Dats. It still has the same creaole/cajun menu. Another patron told me that the restaurant had to change it's name because it was never associated with the Yats in Indianapolis and the Indianapolis restaurant opposed sharing the Yats name. The restaurant and restroom were clean. The restaurant is in an old home painted bright yellow. Despite the restaurant's color it is easy to miss since large trees almost obscure the sign and the restaurant is between a Mediterranean restaurant and a residential area. The decor is funky but sparse, as you would expect a small business frequented by college students to be. The prices are very good and so is the food. You order at the counter, fill your own soda cups, pick up your food at the counter, and bus you own table. The man at the counter was knowlegable about the food. The portions were ample and the food was of good quality. The bread was very good. The food is quite spicy and you can to the spice with the hot sauces at the counter. For $15 my husband and I each got a soda, a two entree plate served over rice with bread on the side, and shared a cookie.
