Stayed 2 nights while on business in Indy. Modern, new hotel. Room was decent, but thin walls as others have stated. Also heard music outside window late at night, but was not from the bar. I think they have speakers on sidewalk with retro lighting. Needs to be turned off at a certain hour. Shower pressure was OK, but not a fan of the shower head all the way in the top of the ceiling...to high to really reach it. Dined in Market restaurant for breakfast, which was a basic buffet with a few hot selections, made to order omelets, etc. Surprised to see charges on bill at check-out from the mini-bar/snacks which I did not consume, but they adjusted it. Friendly staff. Overall, decent, new hotel. Would likely return next time in Indy.

I am a frequent visitor to downtown Indianapolis and stay in hotels here about 25 nights per year. Decided to give this property a try and must say was a little disappointed. Check in was nice but the $27 cost for valet parking was a little steep. All the workers were very friendly and service prompt.

The problems started with the room...first, as others have mentioned, these walls are paper thin. You could hear tv, normal conversation, hallway noise easily and often. The shower pressure in the bathrooms was weak at best and the shower although fashionable was extremely annoying (over head so no adjusting, only a half door etc) the bed was just ok, nothing too bad but not special.

Bar and food areas were nice but expensive and there are much better options to eat and drink downtown.

Looks upscale but kind of just overpriced midlevel. lll stick to my tried and true other downtown options.

Room Tip: Get a room on high floor at end of hall of possible

I was very suprised at just how "Cheap" this hotel was. Modern art on the walls do not make a hotel a "Luxury" property. It was labeled as luxury and this was FAR from it. I have had much better stays at limited service hotels. The walls are paper thin. We could hear the conversations of the people next door and we were kept awake by people talking as they walked by in the hallway. The bed was VERY uncomfortable, as was the furniture in the room. My husband made the comment that they don't want you to stay long! The hotel has only been open for a couple of weeks and the grout in the shower already looks dirty. The breakfast food was okay. It was a buffet with much of the food being cold. COLD is a good word to use to describe the entire hotel. Nothing warm and welcoming about the Alexander.

I arrived on Sunday the opening week and was very impressed by this beautiful hotel. The stuff is very attentive, beautiful art throuout. Excellent free Wi-Fi. The rooms are very comfortable with flat TV, iPhone dock and plenty of outlets for charging. There is a small refrigerator and an expresso machine by the door and plush terry robes in the closet. Unfortunately the shower pressure was low even at night and it was a bit cold as the glass shower door was fashionably halfway. Also, as a note to ladies, it'a rain shower, no shower caps were available, so bring your own.
I was especially impressed by the bar- both drinks and small plates were fantastic and the Ceruvian restaurant with sophisticated menu prepared from the local ingredients. I ate breakfast daily at the Market Cafe, again excellent selection of food, many cooked to order choices, good coffee, incl. capuchino.
Overall, it was a good experience and I want hesitate to stay here again when back to Indianapolis.

Newly built hotel that just opened. Participated in a 2-day business meeting at the hotel and this is a great hotel for meetings. While you couldn't have a large convention at the hotel it would be great for small groups or for holding a smaller meeting when a large convention is in town. Several different meeting room options. No issues with Wifi. Food was excellent and the service was attentive. Considering the hotel had literally just opened the week before I thought the food service/hospitality was on point. The food options for meeting breaks were far above the usual hotel convention food. Then after the meeting you have 2 outstanding bars and 2 restaurants to choose from on the property. Walking distance to stadiums, convention center and heart of downtown.

I live in Indianapolis and have been so excited about the CityWay developments, especially the opening of The Alexander hotel. The check-in process was easy, and the desk clerk was very nice. The overall appearance of the hotel is beautiful: very modern with great art and fun furniture. We stayed in a room with two queen beds on the fourth floor. The room was great! All seemed well until we settled in for the night and the music from the lobby could be heard audibly from our room. At first we thought it may be from the hotel bar, Plat 99, which closes at 1am. However, 1am came and went and the music did not stop. The bed linens were nice and very cozy, but we did not find the mattress to be as comfortable as other comparable hotels. The shower pressure was terrible, and was noticeably impacted by others in other room turning on their water at the same time. Finally, at 8:30 am a housekeeper briefly knocked on the door before attempting to enter the room to clean. Thank goodness we had the door lock latched at the top. Compared to other downtown Indianapolis hotels I have stayed in, this one exceeded the others aesthetically, but did not come close in any other areas. Granted, the hotel has only been open 10 days, so I am sure some kinks are still being worked out, but I expected more.

The Alexander is a new contemporary hotel in Indy. The staff is very attentive. We lunched at The Market restaurant in the hotel. It is a high end buffet with an awesome selectio of food, fresh cooked to order pasta. Oh, and the fresh baked pies!
