“Very interesting”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 27, 2012

Very informative and a great place for school children to visit. At the time I was there for my daughter's school field trip, the woman who led their group left a lot to be desired. Very bossy with the kids and had no interest in answering any of their questions. Hopefully, by now, the staff has changed.

“Great for history buffs and kids learning state history”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 12, 2012

I traveled here with a group of students, and the house is beautiful! It was great for the kids to see how people lived during this time period and to realize that a former president actually lived there. The best part when I've visited is when staff members are in character. I'd love to go for a Halloween event! It would be deliciously creepy.

“Excellent Opportunity to Tour a Presidential Home”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 20, 2012

Our enthusiastic tour guide provided a wealth of information on our tour of President Benjamin Harrison’s home. Unlike the Abraham Lincoln home in Springfield which contains many period pieces but few Lincoln pieces, the Harrison home has been lovingly maintained by the family to provide a true experience. The home is almost exactly as it was when Harrison lived there. I appreciated that non-flash photography is allowed. Our guide took her time, providing much information and interesting stories; she answered all of our questions. If you love history and things presidential, don’t miss this home. It’s well worth the price of admission.

“Definitely Worth Visiting!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2012

If you enjoy history, especially Presidential history, I think that you will really enjoy visiting this home. Having been to other Presidential homes, I was impressed that the furnishings actually belonged to the Harrison Family, not just time period pieces. Our tour guide was FANTASTIC! We took our two boys, ages 6 & 9, with us. The tour guide asked them questions throughout the tour and really made the tour interesting for them as well.
The home is absolutley beautiful. Normally, you may visit all three levels of the home, except the third level was closed when we visited due to an exhibit change. Our tour lasted approx. 45 minutes, including a walk across the yard to visit the carriage house, where another exhibit was held. There is a small gift shop inside the home. I thought that the items were reasonably priced. We all had a great time and learned alot of history.
