Please do not believe all of the negative reviews of the Villa Inn. The staff was extremely friendly and courteous. We stayed in Stanza 3 and loved it. We ate breakfast in the dining room and had some of the best pancakes we have ever had, they also had butter which one review said they did not serve butter.

My wife and I got a couples massage and it was fabulous.

We definately will stay here again

Okay, I found this bed and breakfast online and was so impressed, I could hardly wait to arrive. My partner and I were coming to Indy from Missouri for a concert held at Butler. We were both anticipating a very charming and romantic weekend.
Judging by the description and photo gallery online, we decided to stay in the Rose room at the Looking Glass Inn which was advertised as a romantic honeymoon suite. When booking, they give you a choice to reserve either two twin beds or a king. I, of course chose the king not realizing what I was in for. Never in my wildest dreams would I expect to receive not a king, but TWO TWINS PUSHED TOGETHER with a flat sheet covering them! I couldn't believe it! I know that sometimes the box springs on a king are two twins, this is not what I am talking about. Seriously, my partner and I slept with a huge hump in the middle of the bed. You could fall through the crack in the middle of the night if you weren't careful!!!! And, don't even think about intimacy.........DANGEROUS!!!!!!!

This is just the start, unfortunately. Upon realizing the sleeping arrangements, of course I asked for different accommodations. None were possible according to the innkeeper, and we were to be to our concert within the hour so we had to run to dinner. Big loser here too. We foolishly ate at the villa inn that evening. The dining room was very cute and the staff was sweet but the food was less than tolerable. I think my filet came from sam's club, not that I am criticizing ol' sam, but I payed $28 for a $3 microscopic filet. It was very tough and tasteless. My partner ordered the $22 pasta....big mistake. She was given a small portion of pasta with the tiniest little shrimp you have ever seen and the sauce was unrecognizable. Our crappy little dinner for two ended up costing us $98. Unbelievable!!!!!!

We were both incredibly disappointed by this point but we didn't want to ruin our evening so we decided to keep our complaints to ourselves and deal with it in the morning.

By the time morning came, I was so pissed off that we left as quickly as possible. I gave myself a few hours to cool off on the drive home then called the inn to tell the owner about our experience. After I explained to her that we were very unhappy paying $145 to sleep on two twin beds pushed together with old, worn out, see through sheets and that her website was misleading selling this as a romantic honeymoon suite with a king bed, her response was "nothing is wrong, and I will not give you a refund." I tried to explain to her that I too am a business owner, in fact, I own a salon and day spa which is a very similar business and that when a customer is displeased with an experience, I so everything in my power to make it right. She could have cared less. Needless to say, I will NEVER stay here again!! I hope that you don't make the same mistake!

“Such a Disappointment”

The Villa Inn

Nov 20, 2007

So much potential, but a big letdown. The price is high, so you would expect great service, but that is not the case here. We bought a
'wellness package', but nothing about it was well. The food was pre-determined, frozen or greasy. The owners are not accomodating and quite rude. My massage, yoga and pilates classes were all letdowns as well. Poor service, poor food, high price.

I recently returned from a 6 nght stay at the Villa Inn in Indianapolis and thoroughly enjoyed it. It is a lovely inn and the service was wonderful. Breakfast was made for me the minute I entered the dining room in the morning, My daughter utilized the spa and found it to be very nice. It was unseasonably hot while we were there and they worked really hard to make sure we were as comfortable as possible. We would definitely return here.

I have driven by this establishment many times, living in the downtown Indianapolis area, and have been anxious to check it out since it's been turned into a spa/bed and breakfast five or six years ago. I had been warned, however, by my husbands co-worker, since her experience was less than pleasant. But she was there two years prior, maybe things have changed. So when both of my sisters decided to visit at the same time for a girls weekend, I thought of this place immediately.

I booked a body treatment for all three of us and a pedicure for two of us while the other had a manicure. In all, 3 body treatments, 2 pedicures, and 1 manicure. All services were to be back to back so that we could be out in time for dinner. I was also told that we may upgrade body treatments if we choose, but not downgrade. I thought this helpful since it was a last minute getaway for my sisters and would not be able to look at brochure until arrival.

Upon arrival, we were rudely informed that we were "Very early" (20 minutes) However, we planned this so we would have extra time to look over brochure in the event we wanted to upgrade. Come to find out, we would not be able to upgrade packages, they were running behind due to overbooking, (a bridal party came in) and the receptionist had booked us for more services than requested. I explained to receptionist what I had made reservations for and she refused to accept that it was a mistake on her part. OK...Maybe it was miscommunication on my part, and in trying to come to some sort of resolution I ws informed that NO accomodations would be made. After 20 minutes of my sister speaking with receptionist, she finally agreed to upgrade one of the packages, however we still had to take the services we did not reserve.

What ever happened to the customer is always right? She was completely unaccomodating and unfriendly. We decided to ask the bartender, where we were having our glass of wine while waiting for our treatments to start, if we could speak to the manager. Come to find out, the receptionist is not only the manager, but the owner. DEAD END!

I do have to say the massage therapists and estiticians were extremely nice and personable. (The owner could take a few lessons from them) They felt badly for what had happened. it was apparent that this type of thing happens frequently.

In the end, we paid for more than we wanted, were rushed to get through our treatments (since they were overbooked) to get to our dinner on time, which we were late for.

Needless to say, my husband and I will not be spending our anniversary there, rather at the Old Northside Bed and Breakfast, where we spent our wedding night and had THE BEST service ever!
